One Arm Row

While doing one arm dumbell rows in 4Day Split Chest & Back, I notice it is more comfortable to place my non-working forearm on my leg just above the knee instead of using my hand as Cathe does. As I have lower back issues, I am wondering if this changes the exercise any?

I do the same thing. I find that I'm leaning on the forearm more. I also have a question about the movement. Should the movement start with the dumbell straight down and as I lift it should move back in an angle (as if I'm pulling the rope start of a lawn mower). Thanks.

It would hit the muscle a bit lower (since you are bent over farther), but not so much that it would make much difference, IMO. (Not Cathe, etc. etc. LOL!)
