Cathe/SNM,
I read there will not be a paper catalog mailed anymore. To my overwhelming disappointment.
I use this catalog for referencing a new workout for a month, heck even for a week or daily.
What I like about it is:
1. It has all the information you want at your fingertips
2. The dvd library
3. A description of the workout
4. The item number
5. The price
6. What level it is (beginning, intermediate or advanced)
7. Category (Example: Circuit, upper body, toning, cross training...)
8. Equipment needed
9. The time length of the workout
10. What format is used, (for instance Drill Max: shows how long the warm-up, cardio drills and stretches are)
11. The year it was made
12. The catalog also shows what is on the premixes and also the time frame of those premixes.
13. The information is all in one place.
There is a need for an on-line catalog. It would even be great where you can turn the pages. It doesn't have to be sent out or use paper, and it could be for anyone who is interested. Which I gather is a lot of people.
I'm not alone in wanting an on-line catalog with the same format as the paper one. It's an invaluable tool when you need to figure out what workout to be next in a rotation or routine and many other benefits.
There is a spread sheet that is on a site called Fit Fig Tools under "Cathe Friedrich Fitness Tools" look for, "Cathe Friedrich Compendium" http://fitfig.com/tools/ from one/or more of your/Cathe members that has spent a lot of time on a very similar idea, but I'm sure with all the tools that you have, that an on-line catalog would look so much better.
I do appreciate this person (from the tools she had at her disposal) the many many hours of work she put into this. This does show you how much the idea is needed and wanted. I have to take my hat off to her for her insight.
Having color and organization is so important I think for your readers/members. It seems to me that people are gravitating anywhere to have this information available. Having this kind of information in an instant and right at our fingertips would be awesome.
Who ever had the idea and format of the paper catalog was a genius, and I think many people would appreciate seeing this on-line.
Any hope that it could be done? I don't think it is asking for something that already exists, rather it's something that is convenient and all in one place.
Sincerely,
Janie
