OK you guys asked for it

But I don't have arms like you girl! You're an inspiration to us all & it's been great to see your pic as well........

Well, I have a very petite build. I've always trained really hard but after I hit 30 the scale started inching its way up, I guess a metabolism change or something, & when I hit 140 about 2 1/2 years ago I finally tried Atkins (always did low fat but it seemed to stop working for me). I did not look good at all, kind of like a fire hydrant w/arms & legs. I'm 5'3" & now I stay at a pretty even 110 w/Atkins maintenance.

The only thing I use to measure progress is a scale. I pretty much stay away from BMIs, bodyfat measurements, stuff like that. My weight & how my clothes fit are my only indicators.

That's a funny question b/c I only just went back to doing obliques in the last 3-4 months. I stopped about 10 years ago b/c I also have a pretty thick waist & the oblique exercises were making it even thicker (it now measures about 27-28 inches). Now I just do obliques once a week w/light weights to cut them up but not put on extra muscle.

Also I do think diet is key--I stick w/low carb & it's worked well for me.

Yes, once a week for each body part, but I gained most of that muscle about 7-8 years ago when I trained w/a college football player. You'd be amazed at how much more you can lift when you have someone to spot you. Anyway, back then I trained each body part twice a week, now just once b/c of schedule changes.

And yes, I do focus on strength. I LOVE weight training. I still get a little sore after my workouts, especially legs b/c it's so intense. But that's the fun of it, right?

Sorry, can't answer that one. The only strength video I have of Cathe's is MIS, & I haven't even looked at it in years. But judging how some of the girls on this board look, I'd say her stuff is pretty darn effective.

Looking good Maximus! All that hard work at home and at the gym sure pays off! Keep up the awesome work, 30 something never looked so good!!:)

Take Care
Laurie

LOL that's my best friend AND next door neighbor AND the person who took the pic (the only one I'd ever trust to!). She's 2 years younger than I am & has never touched a weight in her life. Don't you just hate people who look beautiful without ever trying? x(

Wow Maximus!!! great pic.....you give us all inspiration and show us what working out is all about...:)...Carole

Oh!!-- sorry I e-mailed you! I am sitting down now (I was standing at my computer and hurriedly read your e-mail address thinking you wanted us to e-mail you! Whoops!)

So finally I saw your pic. You look like a younger cuter version of Sandra Bullock! Thanks for letting us "see" you! And thanks for all your great fitness tips. I love to read 'em.
-Connie:p :7 ;) :)
