Oh Nerds!

I was really looking forward to doing Meso 3 Week 1 Chest today, but started feeling a cold coming on a couple hours ago. Not really sick, just not quite right. My daughter was home sick yesterday, so we probably caught it together. :( I left work so I could come home and rest. Hopefully an afternoon on the couch and lots of fluids will kick it out of me and I can Meso tomorrow.

Feel better!

I hate being sick and trying to decide when it's ok to work out and when to rest can be very frustrating when you are on the "fringe" like that.

I am absolutely exhausted today. I wish I could go home and lay on the couch. Take a nap for me, will ya? ;) :p

I have been sick for a week now with a cold and kind of flu symptoms. I decided just to let it go and relax. A week off always feels good afterwards. I am aiming to be back to workouts Friday. The trick is NO GUILT.

I know.... except I had my week off LAST week... and I felt great then. Grrrrr. Oh well, for now it's the couch and some Tazo Green Tea.

NO GUILT!? OMG, the hardest part!!!!!!!!!!

I felt a cold coming on Friday night, but DENIED it and kept it at bay. Until Sunday night when it hit me FULL FORCE! Last night, I lathered my chest up with Vicks, wrapped myself in flannel blankets and sweats, and woke up this AM ALMOST 100%. Still a bit 'weird-feeling' in the head (ha...my kids would say that's normal) but I worked out both yesterday AND today...restarted STS...and it turned out ok. NO guilt? I'm Catholic...we're BORN with guilt! ;)

At back to school night last week the teacher warned the parents to beware because there was an awful lot of head colds and sneezing going on in the room.

Hope you feel better soon!

I hope you're feeling better soon! There's nothing worse than being laid up and not being able to get your daily dose of Cathe!

Drinking lots and lots and lots of fluids... feel a bit better, but skipped the dog run/walk because it was raining this morning. Gonna attempt Chest & Back, I'm fueled with almond butter and banana. Think I can handle it.

my kids are in elem. school. every yr within a few weeks of school they/we get sick. i'm finally almost over bronchitis(i'm guessing by symptoms, no dr visit). so try to be prep. for next yr. sounds like its just reg. cold if you're feeling better. i'm the same, can feel all better in a matter of hours or days with lots of hot lemon tea concoction. i basically drink a pitcher of it that morning, and more whenever my throat hurts. mint tea is really good too. dh prefers nasal spray.
hope you're feeling better. ((hugs)) sending healing energy your way. try to just do what your body can handle. we're like a family on here comforting, confiding, cheering each other on. congrats on reaching your goal! and i'd love to learn some of your healthy food ideas. when you're feeling better.

OK, MOm.... that's a very sweet post! Thanks. I just finished Chest & Back and was blown away at how much weight I could lift! Sore throat or not, I had the energy. Maybe it was the almond butter. I drink a lot of tea, and a ton of water with lemon juice in it. I've sort of become addicted to really weak unsweetened lemonade.

My healthy food ideas aren't anything special. Just nothing processed, no white grains, lots of vegetables and fruits, nuts, beans. I discovered the beauty of spaghetti squash this year! Holy cow, I'm in love with that!!!

Allrecipes.com has a lot of really good recipes in their Healthy Foods section. Anything that calls for rice, I substitute quinoa. I like the taste better and it has more protein, fiber and less carbs.

Looks like you're making some amazing progress yourself! Keep it up!
