OH MY WORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calico

Cathlete
I did the first 2 segments of Body Max today and had to take a 2nd shower!!!:+ High humidity and high temperatures do not mix with Body Max!! Plus I drank so much water during the workout that I had the runs after and had to run to the bathroom!!;( Not fun!!:( I have yet to do the whole tape, not sure I ever will be able to. Are all of Cathe's step tapes like this? I know some are probably more intense. But I was just wondering if I am getting a good taste of her step and beginning to wonder if I should stay away from others.:+ I do pretty well, and only manage to get off or can't figure something out towards the end. So I figure I am doing pretty good! Oh yea my face was beet red also!!

I did PS Biceps Back and Abs yesterday and did well with it. Didn't find it as hard as PS Legs. I was able to go pretty heavy for me. Tomorrow is PS Shoulders, Triceps, and Chest. Not looking forward to that one for some reason.:( Not sure how much I can bench press for chest:+ :-(

Anyway hopefully someone likes to read updates on new tapes that are old to others but new to them!

Thanks for listening and reading!!:7

Oh, I am sure we have ALL felt your pain at some point! I know I have.I have owned BM for 4 yrs now, and there are still days when I don't think I can do the entire video.
But you know what, isn't it great to have something to work towards? Part of the reason why we work out is to get in better shape and to build our endurance. When you can do the whole thing is when you realize that you are in better shape this month then you were last month.
I find certain videos harder then others as well.I don't like doing Imax 1 or MIC for that matter.Everytime I see it in a rotation I quiver. And I find PS legs harder then PLB.
DOn't give up on trying Cathes other videos. Some are harder then others, and some are more tricky, but if you try it long enough you will have them downt o a "T".There are days whenI don't even look at the t.v anymore.I have done the video so often that I don't need to.
Bottom line, keep on doing what your doing. And you have to buy some more videos, they are the best workouts ever!

Hi Annette-

Well congrats on getting through Body Max!! I think this is one of her hardest tapes ever so to get through all of that high intensity endurance work along w/ the heat and humidity is pretty remarkable!

That particular tape moves very quickly, even by Cathe's standards. I don't know how familiar you are w/ stepping, but if you aren't, you sure are cutting your teeth on a toughie!!

As far as doing the whole tape at once, give it some time. You might even want to save the upper body work for a different day, until you have the endurance to do it and keep good form. I quite often will do that and have had good luck with it.

Good luck and congrats again on living thru it!

I love Body Max. I have had that tape for about 4 years. It is one of her toughest IMHO. I have never done the whole work out in one day-I do the upper body a different day. One of these days I will do it all!

Hi Annette,

I know exactly how you feel. When I first previewed BodyMax, I thought Cathe had lost her fitness loving mind!:p I couldn't believe how fast the tempo was. The first time I tried it, I did just the Aerobic section and it was horrible. I felt like I was rushing (and I was using a 4" step) and always just a little bit off. I struggled with it for about 3 weeks then I just said forget this one.

I went on a Rhythmic step rotation for about 4 weeks and after completeing that rotation, I decided to give BodyMax another try, (mainly because I hadn't taken the time to develope another rotation) and I was all prepared to feel rushed, to stay 'low' in a sort of permanant squat so that I could keep up, but to my surprise, I didn't feel like the pace was too fast or that I had to rush. I noticed the difference during the warm up, for one thing my heartrate didn't skyrocket during the warm up like it had before and I broke an easy sweat instead of sweating buckets after the warm up like I had all the other times I tried this workout. This time when I did the aerobic section I couldn't believe how comfortable I was with the pace of the workout. I'm not saying it was easy, my butt was working, but for the first time I didn't exhaust myself doing the aerobic section and I was just so pumped that I was actually able to do the whole workout.

I notice often when I don't see improvments in what I am doing for my workouts, that what I need is a break from that particular workout.

Hang with it Annette, it'll happen.:*

Body Max is a wonderful workout, and I think that a few of us had problems with it at first. I simply didn't like it when I tried it for the first time. It was one of those "I can't believe I wasted my money on this thing!" moments. But, I picked it back up after about a year, was in slightly better shape, and I fell in love. One of my favorites... Still extremely difficult if I'm not in good shape, but it doesn't collect dust anymore :) Stick with it, because it will get you into fantastic shape.
