OH MY!! I did Pure Strength Legs and Abs..................

Calico

Cathlete
and boy do I feel it. I think though my stool for sit and squats was too low so I will have to use a chair next time. My legs feel like rubber at the moment!!:+ Otherwise I made it through the whole tape. Even did 50 pound squats and got the barbell over my head, that was an accomplishment in itself.:D I made it through all the lunges too, only using 25 pounds of weight, then came the floor work (not in that order) and she kills you with the inner and outer thigh work. That will really be sore. The calf exercises were good too and something different. Abs were not easy either. Overall, I had a really nice workout and come Wed. I will do another in the series.

:D :7 :D :7 :D :7  :7 :)

I know what you mean, Annette. PS Legs is one tough workout! I was walking kind of funny for 3 days afterward. Congratulations on lifting all that weight! I'm still working up to the point where I can match Cathe on weight.

I'm following the August rotation and this morning was Leaner Legs! Talk about another super tough workout!!!! Oh my!!!! I feel like my legs are about to fall off at the sockets. And my thighs are just on fire. I will definitely feel this tomorrow (and the day after that, and so on... ). As I was doing this workout I was finding myself amazed at Cathe. While she was counting along cheerfully with her excellent form and I'm gasping, sweating, and thinking not so nice thoughts}( .

Take care,
Sabine

I noticed that the Pure Strength series aren't talked about much around here... They were my sole weight workouts for a long time. And they work very very well... I remember the first time I did Legs and Abs, I used extremely heavy weights, and felt like I hardly got a workout. I even remember walking with a friend and mentioning as much that night... Well, I was so wrong, because the next day I so felt it, and I was hurting for a week! I was just thinking this morning that I should order that DVD, because I'm moving soon and my mom still loves the tapes. I think I will. They are super effective and tough!

This is still my favorite Cathe weight set, though I do like the updated ab work in CTX and the pyramids. My muscles respond better to these workouts than to S & H, CTX or the pyramids.

The PS tapes were the first Cathe workouts I tried, too. Because money was tight, I didn't order anything else for quite some time, so I did this series over and over until I got completely burned out on it. I even had all of Cathe's jokes and comments memorized.

It's an excellent series, but I sure was relieved when I bought Slow and Heavy and was able to do something else for a while! I learned my lesson - no more spending months doing the same workouts!

RE: Angela

Hi Angela,
Getting a little off topic here, but I was thinking that very same thing myself the other day only about Firm Volume Number 1. It was the ONLY workout I had to choose from until Volume 2 came out!:+ I think I did it to death!! Now I have over 100 workout vids and sometimes I think, "I'm so tired of these. I gotta get a new workout." Oh, are we never satisfied!;)

Annette, I didn't mean to steal your thread!:( Pure strength is one of my favorite workouts also. I hadn't done the floorwork for ages and decided to do it last Friday. I was still sore Sunday. It really is a great workout!:7

RE: Angela

Hey, Sherry, I did exactly the same thing! Way before I started using Cathe workouts, the only workout tapes I had were the Firm Volume 1, and one of those Buns of Steel tapes. I did the Firm almost every stinkin' day for two years! I don't even want to think about that workout anymore x( . I now have almost as many workout tapes/dvds as you... and I'm always searching for new stuff :D
