Well, I weighed myself this morning. I knew I had gained some because some clothes weren't fitting properly, but I was horrified to see that I've gained 10 FREAKIN' POUNDS since January! And I know it's 100% a result of my poor eating habits.

So, I now have a challenge going with two friends to lose the 10 by Christmas.

I guess the constant vigilance just never ends, huh?

{{{Shelly}}} hugs!

The scale is such a necessary evil.

You can do it. I know that you know how to make good choices and have a cheat meal or day too. BTW when we met you looked fabulous girlfriend! And I'm sure you look fabulous now too :)

Just for fun, check out this article:

Shelley, what Judy said! I'll join you and your friends. I'd like to drop 5 pound by Christmas, and 5 more by March. MWAH!

<The scale is such a necessary evil.>
Or an unnecessary critic and the stress of flipping out over ten pounds probably doesn't help. You're a cutie and the weight will come off, particularly with your routine so relax (not too much!) and hang in there because.............................................................................
You are HAWT!
:*

Shelley, I'll bet that 10 lbs will just melt right off when you focus on your diet. I know for a fact that you've got an excellent workout routine. Can I join you and your two friends? I need some inspiration to eat clean.

Shell, are you sure you didn't give those pounds to shmoopy? My 40lb shmoopy, that is. I think you must be mistaken. That is where it is.

Debbie

I don't want to take a pill. Go to Africa, go follow some bushman around. He's being chased by a lion. That's stress. You're not going to find a pygmy on Paxil, I'll tell you that right now.

Deb - nope, I can see them sitting right there between my waist and my butt. Schmoops is 40 lbs? Yikes! He's catching up with Sophster! I don't think she's broken the 60 lb mark yet but she's past 4'8".

And yes, anyone, feel free to join in. Shall we have a 10 lb check-in, or do we just wanna carry on in silence?:p

Well, I gained about 10 #'s over the past 5 or 6 months. My diet took a nose dive over the summer and I need to clean it up  ;(

I'm all for a 10 pound meltdown check in. Of course, I'll probably drop out somewhere along the line, like I usually do.

The 10 pound Meltdown Check-in!? I'm in!

Does anybody have any good serving suggestions for rice cakes? :p

;( ;( CARDIO...BOOHOO...;( ;( :p

Oh stop whining about the cardio Michelle }( :p :+ It's all for the greater good!!

Don't be so hard on yourself Shelley, the scale sometimes shows 5 lbs more if I eat too salty.

I will join the 10 lbs meltdown by x-mas, it sure is needed!!

Ugh, that sucks. But, at least you know now. It sucks to really look at the number and be honest, but at least now, you can DO something about it, so the number doesn't climb higher. Isn't admittance the 1st step? :)

I feel your pain, Shelley. Really, I do. Since my piriformis problems cropped up, I had to take a lot of rest days *ahem* rest month *cough cough*. As a result, I've put on several pounds. I could stand to lose a good 8 pounds. And this is the hardest time of year to lose weight too - with all the holiday goodies everywhere. But I know you can do it! And I love the idea of a check in for this. :)

Shelly, can I please join in??? I need this SOO bad. Plus I just got my BBC's too, so I am ready, just need the kick in the a@@!!!!!

I might be joining you. I've really got at least 15 lbs to lose, but 10 would be a good start--I've sort of stalled out lately.

It just never stops, does it? Vigilance and more vigilance.

Sometimes it seems like losing the weight is the easy part. KEEPING it off is the hard part.

I'm struggling to keep my weight within 5-7 pounds of my target of 150. I'm pretty much failing and here we are gearing up for the eating-est time of the year.

Sigh. I'm doomed. x(
