anyone have as much trouble with Computer viruses and trojan horses as I have? last night 6 Tried to hit my computer and one succesfully hit in just two hours!!I got sick of it and upgraded my Norton's to the new Norton's internet security. Hopefully that will solve my computer problems.

Sorry I am also having a bad day because my new computer is having some serious trouble and I am ready to shoot it!!!! but hopefully when the computer tech comes my computer will be protected like fortnox and be running like it should have in the first place.

It may be off topic, but I am so glad you posted this! I have only been online for 10 minutes and have already had 4 trojan alerts! Yesterday I must have had, seriously, 30 attempts on my computer. I can barely get the tracking information, and I am getting another alert. It is really starting to freak me out. The only good thing I can say is that they are all alerts for what has been attempted and blocked. How would I know if one got through?

Anyone else?

At my universty, we had problems at the beginning of the semester with the entire system being invaded by a virus that was brought in on some students portable computer.

And whenever I check my e-mail, I swear I get about 5 attempts a week by someone tryiing to put a virus on my computer (all the messages from people I don't know with attachments, or emails with no message and only an attachment are the suspicious ones I delete without opening).

FYI: NOTHING is off topic here! (See the guidelines for this forum)

I talked to my internet provider and he said they had to block so many places due to hacking attempts, I was just so frustrated, I have only had this computer for 2 months and have already had 2 worms and like over a dozen trojan horses and now my computer isn't running right so they are sending a tech to literaly re-build my already new computer!! good luck to all out there, get a firewall NOW! not just the one that comes with the computer, it is so worth the money!!

I have the firewall, the latest Norton/Symantec, and all of that. I was still told that this is not always enough.

My normal computer time will give me maybe 3-5 attempts a week, but this increase in the last two days makes my want to call my server.

Like I said before, these are all alerts for attempts, but what if the attempt isn't blocked? Someone is really jabbing away at me, and at some point they will be better than my protection.

Hi Leslie!

I had a nasty worm on my computer about a year ago and had to completely take it back to the beginning using the recovery disk. I installed the Norton System Works and Firewall and like a lot of you are amazed at the number of attempts on my computer! Lately it has been so many that I don't do the tracking....I'd be tracking more than anything else. My Norton did the weekly virus scan on Friday and it found a file with a virus attached which is in quarantine. Doesn't it make you feel violated?

Take care,

That is what happened to me my Norton's blocked all but two! I had manually remove those two. I called my server and they are working real hard on stopping the hacking attempts on their end but still getting tons of attempts, I am just so glad I am not the only one having all this trouble! Thank you all you have been so kind:)

I can empathize with your problem. Last year, an acquaintance got a bad virus on her computer. My name was in her address book. EVERY time she turned her computer on, it sent the virus to my computer.
When I told her to get my name out of her computer...her reply; "I don't know how."
I even offered to pay to send someone over to fix her computer. She refused to do anything about it. Shocking!
After 3 weeks of this mess...having to put up with my computer shuting down, I took my tower in to the computer wizards at my internet provider.
Yep, sure enough, my computer had this bad virus. It was timed released to destroy my computer. Fortunately I got it to the shop in time.
I got my computer cleaned up, changed my ISP address (Which I am careful where I give it out to) and another hotmail addy that I use for most of my correspondence.

My dad just received a bad virus from an ad that appeared to come from Microsoft. He had to go through the same procedures and....expense...that I had to go through. I'm paying extra at my ISP for email blocking plus Norton's full protection.
And granted....that may not be enough!

Not Fun!!!
