Tell me about Clarisonic?

Best skin care product EVER! Clarisonic, my friend. It has seriously changed lives around here. Is that too dramatic? :) Well, it certainly changed mine. No more melasma or acne. Halle-flipping-lujah!

Is that like the Olay Pro-X? I have actually looked at those systems (though I'd never heard of Clarisonic). There is a big difference in price--is it worth paying extra? Do you use the cleansers that come with it or does the device work with any cleanser?

The two are really nothing alike. It's like comparing a Crest Spin Brush to a Sonicare. No comparison! The Clarisonic uses the same sonic technology as the Sonicare; it's not just a spinning brush. I've seen the Olay model as well as the Proactiv model, and they are nowhere near the same quality as the Clarisonic. You can tell a difference in your skin from the very first use, and it just keeps getting better.
You can use your own cleanser. No need to use theirs. They have different brush heads for different skin types (delicate, sensitive, normal, acne, etc) Start with the delicate or sensitive brush and see how your skin responds. There is a purging period of about two weeks where your skin may break out more than usual while all the guck comes out from deep in your pores. After that, it's amazing! I'm so grateful to have made this discovery. I have struggled with acne since I was 8, and melasma since my early 20s. I don't deal with either one anymore! It's made my skin so amazing. People are always complimenting me, and that's such a good feeling.

Hi and welcome! I just recently picked up STS myself on a Deal of the Day...it's definitely worth it to check those.

Glad to have you with us as we encourage each other and enable mass quantities of fitness and healthy living purchases! :D
Story1267--what kind of Daily Deals are offered for STS? And how often is it offered?

thanks Natalie--I'm really interested! I am 41 and have had very oily skin and constant breakouts my whole life, but the older I get the worse it seems to get! Nothing I buy to try and fix it every works for long. It works great at first then it's like my skin aclimates to it. I'm going to try the Clarisonic. So I should purchased the delicate one, then upgrade to the acne one if necessary?

Check the banner at the very top of the page. "Click for Today's Deal" - now, it does take a little more clicking than that, but eventually you will come to the right link.

SNM offers up something as an extra discounted deal each day...some number of % off their regular price.

So, when you are looking to expand your collection...and who isn't.....it pays to be patient and check that link each day. The offering changes and I presume that sooner or later STS will roll around again. And when it does it's an excellent deal...STS is an investment that's worth full price but when it's deal of the day.....that's awesome!

Food for thought in the meantime....do you have a squat rack? There are two different options for STS - one uses a squat rack and the other is plyo based for the leg work. I got the plyo one because I don't have a squat rack...yet.....;).

Wish me luck I start Sunday!

I'm 35, and I thought by now I would be over the acne stage of my life. Groan. Try the sensitive brush first. It's the one that works for me, and we sound like we have similar skin. The acne brush has a stiffer bristle, and I've been hesitant to try it since over scrubbing my skin just leads to more breakouts.

It will really help you! Just prepare yourself for a couple weeks of slightly increased breakouts while your skin purges. Don't get discouraged! If it lasts longer than that or your skin feels overly scrubbed, try the delicate brush. I might get one or two small hormonal blemishes now and then, but I'm clear 99% of the time.

Just to clarify, only the brush heads are different. They all fit on the Mia, Acne or standard Clarisonic models.

I have the basic one speed Mia and use the Deep Pore brush. I LOVE IT!!!!! Works nicely on the neck, shoulders, & decollete area too! Well worth spending the $$$ on the real deal!

I have been wanting to try the deep pore brush! Maybe I'll run to Sephora today and see if they have one in stock. I am on the autoship program with Clarisonic for my brushes since you get 25% off that way. I have the standard two speed model, but when that one kicks the bucket I'm getting the Mia since I only use one speed most of the time anyway. Yes, we'll worth the $$$!

Clarisonic

I have a confession . I also bought a Clarisonic because of all you enablers, lol! ;) I'm a long time member of the acne camp too. I was very excited about using the Clarisonic, but I made the mistake of telling my aesthetician about it. She convinced me that it was not a good tool, and so I have not used it at all. It sits on my bathroom counter collecting dust  and I bought the "pro" model! I also signed up for auto-shipment of brushes, but then, of course, canceled. Starting this evening, I am going to begin using the Clarisonic regularly and see how my skin responds. Thanks for bringing up the discussion again, ladies! You rock! :)

Has anyone tried it for skin tone and wrinkles? 42 and I am just starting to see sig s of small wrinkles around mouth area. Also some blotchy skin as well as I do still brake out during pms. So has anyone seen a difference in these areas?
.

By the way I don't mind getting older I just don't think 42 shouldt have these problems yet. Id like to hold off for as long as I can. Lol

What the what?! What in the world was she smoking?! I have a suspicion that she told you that to keep your business. If you had started using the Clarisonic, you would have no need for her services anymore.
Before long you will be able to move on from the acne camp!

It has remarkably improved my tone and texture. All my acne scars and dark areas are gone. I don't know how well it does for wrinkles, but Clarisonic makes the Opal product specifically for wrinkles. I've seen the before and after photos sent in by users, and they are quite amazing. For me, I have always taken good care of my skin and have used a retinol serum since I was a teenager, so I don't have any wrinkles yet. However, since using the Clarisonic I immediately noticed my skin absorbed my products so much faster and easier, and I think that also has helped my scars and marks disappear.

Edited: I didn't see the PMS part...I still get a hormonal breakout in my chin every now and then, but it's a couple of small blemishes that are gone in a few days as opposed to the dozen cystic kind I would get every month.

Bingo on the bold statement. I've been a very loyal client to her for probably 10 years now. I'm eager to see how my skin transforms over the next few weeks as I use the Clarisonic regularly, particularly since I've seen some positive changes in my skin over the past few months. :)

I mentioned in my previous post that I too have been a long time acne sufferer, but I must state that several months ago I had an urge to explore raw/living cuisine. Turns out that eating this way has truly improved my skin. I have been incorporating more fruits, veggies, and fresh herbs in my day than I could have EVER imagined, and it's quite fun trying all these new-to-me foods. My fridge(s) now runneth over with fresh produce! Yesterday alone I had: spinach, romaine, parsley, cucumber, apples, beets, lemon and ginger juiced. For lunch, I had a smoothie made from homemade almond & coconut milks, pears, mangoes, and hemp protein. For supper, I had a parsnip, pea, hemp, and chickpea salad with fresh basil, hemp oil, and fresh-squeezed lemon juice, which I wrapped in Romaine lettuce leaves (veggie tacos!). I also had bananas and some dried fruits (goji berries and Medjool dates) mixed in with my breakfast and desert. I now eat avocados, chia, and flax seeds almost daily. Changing my diet to purely plant-based foods has done WONDERS for my skin. I've not had any breakouts in the past few months, my skin feels more smooth (all over), and my skin tone is brighter. It's surely easier to eat a plant-based diet in the summer while produce is abundant. Come the colder months, I know I will crave warmer foods and grains, but I intend to stay on the vegan path. I've learned a lot over the past few months, and it's been an enlightening journey. Anyhoo....Sorry for the long-winded post, gang! Just wanted to share my experience in case it may be useful to someone here. ;)

Ciao, bellas! :)

I'm a vegan! It will transform your skin and body! I was vegetarian for years, and made the transition to vegan about 18 months ago. I will never go back!

Try some cookbooks by Isa Moskowitz or Robin Robertson. I have them all! Summer fare is yum, but fall and winter vegan food is my favorite. Warm and comforting and so delish.
