o/t...questions about breast implants

Hi all!

After nursing two kids, I've been left with a chest that is next to nothing. I've never been "big" to begin with, maybe an A, if that, but now...yikes!!!

I just wanted to get some feedback about this from anyone that's gone through the procedure. I know there are quite a few people here that have had it done and I'm just wondering how the recovery was, how family/friends reacted, etc.

Thanks for the info!

Try the delphi forums look up breast implants. Tons of info.

For me, I never regret it. It was, however, the most painful thing I've ever done. Even my hairdresser said it was worse than giving birth. The pain is pretty bad the first few days but it does slowly get better. I took a week off of work and went back slowly, very slowly after that. Family and friends were fine. I'm sure they have their opinions (good bad or indifferent) but my friends truly support whatever makes me happy.

Not sure how old your kids are but I would make sure they are old enough that they a) don't have to be carried or b) someone else can hold/carry them. You won't be able to do that for awhile, maybe a month without causing pain.

I would try to find referrals from a doctor nearby and make sure the doctor is board certified. I had them done about 13 years ago and have never regretted my decision. One thing to consider is that it is a lifetime decision. Often they need to be replaced every 5-10 years. Only the first procedure is usually painful as the pockets have not been formed yet.

Thanks, Colleen!

Thanks for taking the time to respond and for all the info. My kids are 5 and 2, and I'm still contemplating having #3, so if and when I do decide to have the procedure, it won't be until #3 is definitely not coming or he/she is old enough to have mommy out of commission for a few weeks!

Just curious, were your implants above or below the muscle? I've had a few people tell me that over the muscle is not as painful, but isn't always recommended. There is a doctor in my area that someone I know (and their sister) has gone to, and I am considering going for a consultation...especially to find out the cost!

Thanks again!
