o/t...question for middle school parents

It has recently been found out that our school district has okay'd, without public knowledge and input, the Simple Life 3 being filmed at our middle school, grades 6 though 8. Permission slips have been sent home to parents and the faculty at a staff meeting today signed releases. The children and staff are not being considered extras, so no compensation will be given. Hilton and Richie will be teaching gym classes, working in the cafeteria and I believe working in the main office. Our district is very hard up for money and that is being cited as the main reason that the board has decided to participate in this.

I personally am not happy about this and have made it known to the powers that be, but since my son is in first grade, I'm not "directly" affected. I'm just curious as to others opinions on this. Many parents of children in the school are absolutely outraged!
 
Oh my!!! I have a child in the 6th grade and I would be outraged if they did this without my consent. I wouldn't want my children exposed to it.

I'm pretty sure that if you don't sign the release,or say no, the school has to make accomodations for children so they are no where near those simpletons.

And if EVERY parent says no, the school will have no children willing to be filmed. Sounds like a plan.

If nothing gets resolved and they end up filming it at the school I hope there's a kid there like my 5th grader that tells it like it is and put them in their place and make them look like fools.

The amazing part of all this is our school board has yet to admit that it's a done deal, but many leaks have gotten out from the school. FOX has been to the school twice, as recently as Friday to check lighting! I don't think a major network would waste their time if it was still only being considered.

There is a group of concerned citizen (me being one) that have really pooled together to try to get this stopped. My gut instinct is that this is happening on Monday, which would be convenient since the next school board meeting is Tuesday night!
 
I would not sign the permission slip . Not a good call on the schools part . How about they go work at a local DQ or AW .then Town will still benifit from of it ..ya know hotel rooms and resturants anyway .They are not "Good Role "models .Might as well Have "Cops 9 1 1 there LOL. Good luck :)
