O/T Do you watch any scary movies on Halloween?

We usually have a few playing throughout the night. One of our favorites is an old movie, can't remember the year. It's called Legend of Hell House. It is NOT the remake of a few years back starring Catherine Zeta-Jones. This older version must have been pretty risque' back then. It is definitely creepy.

Anyway, any other favorites out there?

I have learned with many bad experiences that scary movies are NOT for me. No matter how much I tell myself I'm an adult and can handle it, I end up sleeping with the lights on.:p

I am not a huge fan of gore fest or gross out horror movies. Every year at this time DH and I watch Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp. It's a good Halloweenish flick. I also happen to be fond of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

I love the old horror/thriller/suspense movies from the 50's and 60's--not those creepy, gory slasher movies of today.

Some favorites are:

The House on Haunted Hill
The Day The Earth Stood Still
Dracula with Bella Lugosi
The Fly
The Haunting (1963 version)
The Incredible Shrinking Man
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
The Invisible Man
Nosferatu
The Spiral Staircase
Ten Little Indians

I LOVE these movies:)

I'm not a fan of horror movies either. I'm so chicken that a cheesy TV sitcom about Halloween can keep me up at night.

I love love lover horror movies. I actually watch them a lot and own a lot. Over the weekend I watched the remake of Amityville Horror. It scared the crap out of me. I even dreamed about it, and I haven't done that in years. But, I know I will watch it again. We own all the Halloween movies, the cheesy Chuckie movies, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Scream Trilogy, I Know What You Did Last Summer plus the sequal, and many many more.

To answer the question, I will definitely be having a Halloween movie marathon.

I love this time of the year with scary movies galore to watch. Only have a hard time finding the time to watch them. If only I had a treadmill then I could run so fast on it like I was scared! LOL! Some of my favorites are:

The Other
Child of Glass (old Disney ghost story)
Goose Bumps (any of them..The Haunted Mask is my fav)
All the classics like...Dracula, Wolfman, etc.
Ghost Story

I don't care for too much gore and violence. Dracula is all the violence I can stand. I don't like Blade at all or Underworld. Too much! LOL!

Dani - I can't watch that show if I'm by myself. Did you see the one with the "Bloody Mary" theme? I had to turn it off because everytime I'd walk by a mirror I kept picturing this dark figure in the background.

I usually watch Halloween 1. Last year I watched the Amityville movies (for the first time ever) and the first one scared the crap out of me. I'd like to see the remake. Not a big fan of the Friday 13th movies. I only liked the first Nightmare on Elm Street.

Scary movies are a comfort thing for me cause my cousins and I used to watch them as children. I know that sounds wierd but that's what I like. Some people have comfort food, I have comfort movies :)

NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!! One of my all time favorites. I really liked the Corpse Bride as well but I doubt it will be on video for Halloween. Oh, and I loved Sleepy Hollow too!! (Can you tell I love Tim Burton movies??)

Carolyn

That makes perfect sense to me, Candi. It was the same for my sister and I. We're 2 years apart and we had friends that were also sisters and the same ages as us. They used to come to our house and we'd make Chef Boyardee pizza and watch Infinity and Hoolihan and Big Chuck. These were programs out of Cleveland that ran scary movies on Saturday night. Those were the good ole days.:) :)

Michele,

I'm glad that makes sense to you because when I tell other people this, they look at me like I have three eyeballs! And you know what....I sleep like a baby after I watch one.

Yes! I saw the Bloody Mary one over the weekend! Scared the heck out of me!!

And I love that they brought Jamie Lee Curtis back for Halloween H20. She is the queen of scarey movies. I forgot to mention that I loved Prom Night, Terror Train, and anything else she played in that I'm forgetting. :7
