Nutrition area of workout manager?

FourAM

Cathlete
I was just wondering if anyone had any insight to this section of the workout manager. I like the idea of this but do not know too much about it...

There is a tutorial for the nutrition program you can run to learn more about it. I have heard there are a few bugs that need to be worked out but that it's an excellent program. It was described as "genius" by a fellow Catheite whose opinnion I take in very high regard. I am going to sign up for the one month trial membership myself next week to see how I like it. I use fitday currently but I have a feeling this program will blow fitday out of the water!

Ummmm, yum. Boy, nothing to do with the topic...ok, wait, it is a nutrition topic. OK, I'm good with this - chocolate martinis!! :) I just noticed that in your signature. May have to have one of those tomorrow night. Now, back to actual nutrition...

LMBO! No worries, girl, I had a couple LAST night!

You see, I am leaving for vacation today so I decided it would be prudent of me to make sure I have the recipe right so that they are just PERFECT while I am away!;)

YUM is right!:D

two thumbs way up

I have used FitDay (free and paid version) and WW, and while I liked both, Cathe's nutrition program is, by far, my favorite of the three. Like the others, it's easy to input foods and create your own custom foods, but the difference here is that you get graded on your choices in terms of your overall calories, fat, protein, carbs, and individual nutrients. If you're lacking in a particular area, the program will even make suggestions to help you earn all A's. So, it's not just a place to track your food, but it guides you to better choices. Brilliant, IMO.

I have been using it for three days now, and I am very pleased with how full I feel, thanks to healthier, balanced choices.

The only thing I can think of that could be done to improve it would be to allow you to add in your exercise in order to make calorie adjustments.

but is it worth the price

I like the idea of the nutrition section on the WM but is it worth $99 a year? I can't afford that.

For me, it is, yes. I was paying $16.95/month for WW online. I opted for the $9.99 one month membership initially just to see 1) if I like the program, and 2) whether or not it works for me, and even that rate is obviously a substantial savings from WW. For me, consistency with eating is most challenging, so I consider it well worth it.

If you are enjoying success with a free program, then by all means, stick with what works.

I signed up for it as well - I like that it rates your overall meals and gives you good targets based on the information you give.

I have used both fitday and sparkpeople - and so far I like what I see better in this one. :)

Dumb question, but how do you log in to the workout manager? I am automatically logged in on the forums, but not on the other areas of the website. Does anyone know why?? My username and password don't seem to work there.

I would like to try it also but I have a tendency not to keep up w/journalling. The thing I like the best about this is I could do it at any computer, even at work. Let me know how you like it.

Nancy,
The only way login seems to work for me is that I have to log directly into the Workout Manager page. If I'm logged into the forums and then try to go over there, no dice. So in that case, I log out of the forums, click on the Workout Manager at the top of the page and then log in again from there. HTH.

Penny,
Maybe you could try the one-month package and see if it's something you'll keep up with. If not, then you're only out $10.
