We have won our legal battle for good. A couple weeks ago I posted that the Commonwealth Court of PA ruled in my son's favor against the county Mental Retardation organization. They said he wasn't retarded and they didn't have to provide him with service. We, and the courts, said he was, and they do. We just spoke to our lawyer and she said the county WON'T be appealing the decision. They have appealed the last 2 decisions and delayed any service for over 3 years. Now they must provide services, and it is just a matter of time before the money becomes available to place him in a residence. Then his life, and ours, can begin. I am so relived. We were afraid they would appeal, costing us more time and money...Now we just have to keep pushing for the funding.

Oh Robin, congratulations!!! What a great victory!! Your son is so incredibly lucky to have a tenacious woman like you for his mother:7 :7 Thanks for updating us:)

Thank you, jes and Sandy, for your replies. Hopefully the next news I'll post regarding my son is that we are moving him to his new home and life! I'm heading home now. Every one have a great weekend. See you next week.

That's wonderful, Robin. You must be so relieved. I'll keep you and your son in my prayers that a spot comes available in a good home very soon.:)

It's sad that it had to take so much time and effort on your part, but I'm happy everything worked out for your family.

Congratulations Robin! I hope things get moving for you now. I can only imagine how frustrating this has been for you and your family.
