November Fog: Who Cares?!

Good Evening,

StudioSweat Strength and Stamina March 21 2013 a mix of cardio and weights in a circuit style I had to stop early it was tough.

Lisa-I am doing a trouche of estrogen and progesterone and an additional progesterone pill.

Ronne-I am working hard but not seeing results.

Hi everyone, not much to report workout wise. Ronne I saw Dr Strange the other night, I also liked it. DD and I went to theater to avoid watching the election results blow by blow. I'd voted earlier in the day. Lisa, I'd love to do a hike or bike. I'm just up for an explore. That being said, I checked out Ohio next week and predictions are for highs in the mid 50's. I don't know how to dress for that! Jeans, long sleeve T and a hoodie? I want to hike and /or bike CVNP and the towpath, but that may require wardrobe planning. Mary, I'm taking my bro to Cleveland airport on Sunday aft, maybe we can think up something easy then? Oh wait maybe your kiddos will be back! I know mine will be home while I'm gone. Just think, they've nearly gotten through first term! Roxie, I can relate, I've regained 15 from my low of 125. I don't like to do that math. Murphy, I have a leak in my upstairs bath. Why do I think you can relate? Or maybe it was Mary whose had plumbing woes?
Oh wait, yes to perm move to days. I dread some aspects but I think my health and energy and spirit will be better off of night shift.

Hi all

Lisa - it's amazing to read about your cycling exploits. Could you have imagined a few years ago doing all this?

Jody - that's what I weigh all the time! Are you moving to days?

Nothing much to report here. Did LICh. Haven't done that one for ages, it was harder than I remembered!
DH and I didn't agree on the film last night, he hated it and I thought it was really good! I've been out three nights on the trot, I'm looking forward to being at home this evening.

Hello! Today did a Julia workout, fun. Ronne, enjoy being at home! I love to be a sloth on my couch! Jody, you might need a jacket too, gloves, the wind can get kind of biting. Let me talk to the kids and see what they are up to! I will let you know this week! Lisa, you could plan a biking trip around Europe and go visit Ronne! Thank you for the kind words about DS, he is becoming quite the young man! Roxie, I will have to check out that studio sweat, seems like you really like it! Hi Murphy! Not much today, 14 hours yesterday, kind of recovering! Good day to all! Mary

I was physically tired so only rode 18.5 easy miles. It was nice just to be out in the beautiful weather. Ronne, if I ever get back to step and Cathe they'll all probably feel hard. My foot/ankle is feeling good with not overdoing it so just giving it time to heal more completely (something I used to have a hard time with but not since I found my biking love). DH and I did some bicycling pre kids but skiing was our love, then during the kid years there was a few times we went up to the mountains cycling....it was sooooo hard. I would probably not be doing all this cycling if it wasn't for the wonderful bike paths we have, they are all only about 1-2 yrs old. I'm happy DH and I found something to do together in our advanced age! Jody, you sound like a typical Floridian with weather woes...lol. Mary, I can't see you as a sloth!

Hi everyone

Mary - I'm in agreement with Lisa, you could never be a sloth, though you would be excused after a 14 hour day! We watched a very entertaining sloth on TV last night (Planet Earth 2), swimming to find a mate. (Complete random sentence there...)

Lisa - I love how 18 miles is easy... I would have loved to get into skiing but I don't think that's ever going to happen.

Finished week 2 of the rotation. ICE MTB - I think this is the toughest of the series. Still a long way off adding on the Blizzard Blast.
Another quiet weekend, trip to town with DD again to get her some new boots, bit of cleaning and maybe a bit of baking. Have a good one everyone!

HI girls! Today did a leg workout, my favorite! Ronne, funny you watched a special about sloths! I have my moments of laziness! What's everyone else up to? DD is coming home! I'm so excited to hang with her this weekend! I'll see you all on Tuesday! Have a good weekend! Mary

BM double UB PM and a 2.7 mile walk! My foot/ankle felt pretty good....I'm being very sensible about this recovery and it's easy to be since I found my bicycling love. Then DH and I did more leave raking, another beautiful day! Ronne, You're right, back when I started I never thought I'd be able to do 15 much less 18 miles (and call it easy). Mary, it's funny how excited you get when your children come back to visit, I feel the same with Thanksgiving time and having my little crew here (DIL and psuedo DIL included! ). I say psuedo DIL because I feel she will be one day. So excited that DS found a partner in crime, I always worried more about him.

Hi all

Mary - hope you had fun with DD. Does she seem older?

Lisa - When do your kids come home?

Roxie - must have been a good workout.

Had a nice weekend, nothing much. Got my chores done and baked the Christmas cake! Decided we'd have one this year as I saw a recipe I liked. I also made some cheese and sage scones. One of my intentions this year was to learn to make pastry, I've left it a bit late. They turned out well.
Got my workouts in - ICE LIS 2 yesterday and Xtrain SC plus Core 2 today.

Hello ladies! Well, I decided to try out my old manual bike, I did 20 miles on Saturday. Sunday I did ICE MM tri, core 1 and did some pilates stretching while the blizzard blasts was playing, finished and decided to try the ice breakers, I could do them! So today, Monday, I did ICE MM Back, then the Blizzard from RockSockem (don't know abbreviation), I modified low impact like I always do and I did OK! I feel it just a bit in my foot, but I think it's a good thing to do these little blizzards once in a while to ease back in (as long as no step, can't do that yet with my foot;/ankle), then DH and I went for a ride on our manual old bikes again, 22 miles and I made it up both of the huge hills behind my house at the end of the ride without stopping! Max HR was 160, avg was 124 for the 2.5 hrs. Last time I tried that hill I had to stop 4 times! I'm feeling very proud, but now ready for the e-bike next couple of days.

Ronne, they aren't here until Thanksgiving evening. We bought a remote for the tv/audio/cable etc and can't program it, grrrrr, DS will have to do it for us. I just get too frustrated and it's not worth the frustration. I have better things to do that figure it out! What kind of Christmas cake?

Roxie, my legs are always sore with the cycling but trying to get it all in before old man winter hits. It's 70s this week!

Hi Lisa and everyone

Lisa - I bet it felt good to do that Blizzard! Nice to see improvements as well. Here a Christmas cake is a fruit cake which you can ice and decorate. You make it a few weeks in advance and let it mature and then ice it (you can also keep topping it up with alcohol while you're maturing it!)

Xtrain BS CBS, went as heavy as I can manage and it felt good. Working like crazy at the moment, so busy.
Got to start making present lists, I'm going shopping next week!

Hi Ronne and everyone! Gorgeous day today, DH and I went 22 miles on bike, same distance as yesterday, a bit more elevation, not as high a HR since we were on the ebikes and could get a little assistance, still a good workout! Also, MM biceps, that's one's hard! I feel it a bit in my foot/ankle from yesterday, so I'm being careful and not doing anything that bothers it for a few days. Crazy that extra bone is causing me all this havoc!

Ronne, that cake sounds interesting, any particular type of alcohol? I'll send you my list for a present :)

Good Evening,

StudioSweat Spin Prime Climb tough workout 40 minutes 9.9 miles 316 cals burned.

Lisa-beautiful day here we are planning on going to the lake tomorrow.

Hi everyone

Late check-in for me. Did Rock'em Sock'em, it's getting better. I can contemplate adding the BB on at some point. Going out to the cinema again tonight to see Arrival. Mary, is that your kind of thing?

Lisa - you'd usually use whisky or brandy in a christmas cake but I used dark rum as that's what we've got in at the moment. You'd be so easy to buy for - workout gear!!

Hi ladies! So today is the last day of beautiful weather, we'll have a 40 degree drop tomorrow for the next couple days, possible snow but it won't stick to the ground since it's been so warm. DH and I did a 23 mile bike ride. Ronne, my limited use of the ICE series I'd think that Rock/Sock plus BB would be the easiest to start with? Maybe because I don't punch very hard (hurts shoulder)...I'm like a t-rex (ssshhhh. so is Jody). Roxie, you are killing the studio sweat workouts! Mary, do you have problems winding down to sleep or do you crash in the bed from being so busy? I do have to say, I think I sleep better with these long bike rides.

Hello! Today did a cardio hiit. Lisa, your weather will reach us Saturday, they are saying snow! 73 on Friday, 30 Saturday! I pretty much fall into bed and am dead asleep! With now practically working full time and everything else, I'm exhausted! Lol! Ronne, is that the typical fruit cake that everyone makes jokes about? Dense with dried fruit? The alcohol would only help! I'm sorry, it's not my favorite, if that's what it is! I did see the trailer for Arrival , looks interesting! I do love to go to the movies tho! Roxie, you are a spinning maniac! Hello to everyone else! Good evening to all! Mary

Hi all. I am still not fully healed, still have the boot on my foot. The good news is that I am able to do some exercises. Most UB and floor work. Nothing that puts pressure or etc. on my foot. It feels good to be doing something. Right now I am doing shorter workouts, 20-30 minutes, mostly premixes and timesavers. I usually forget about them but now they are really coming in handy!

Waves to all,
Murphy
