November 4 day split rotation check-in...

Hi everyone Checking in with Kickbox legs/core. It was the first time I did the whole workout. I had trouble with the low lunges where you get down on your hands and knees and then put one foot back on the top of the step and the other foot forward..yikes I just felt awkward so I didn't do itx( next time I will try again.

Wow Tneah Hip surgery 3 months ago and your already back to working out that is great. I hear being in good shape/health helps your recovery go quicker.

I am going to repeat the 1st week next week since I didn't get a full week in with this rotation and my rest day will be on Sunday.

How is everyone else doing? Could someone recommend a Yoga or pilates DVD I have Windsor Pilates I haven't used in a long time in fact my friend has it now is there a "Must have" out there?? Thanks

Upon Pippa's recommendation I ordered the MTV Pilates. It actually is pretty good I guess. But there is another called "yogalites" or something like that-it is better, but longer. For now, pull out the Windsor, her leg sculpting is very good. I use the Squeeze workout, love it!
 
Lori: I had some trouble with those low lunges too. I am not sure if I stayed as low as Cathe. But, I will keep working on it..As far as pilates, I don't really have any of those. The only one I have is the one The FIRM put out. I like it but have nothing to compare it to.

Checking in today with Kickbox/legs & core done...I can feel my legs already. Great workout!!
 
Laura: Great clean eating..I have been doing pretty good. I am following The FIRMs meal plan that came with the Transfirmer system. It keeps me focused.

Today I ate:
1 cup of cottage cheese 1% with a slice of toast and some almonds

I had a piece of homemade sugar free banana bread..

post workout: protein shake made with skim milk and an apple.

Not sure about later..Hoping it will be clean.

tneah: great job getting back into the swing of things after surgery.

Just finished the new kickboxing one for the first time! I loved the cardio section. I liked the legs section but there sure are lots of equipment changes and not sure if I like the low plane lunges.

Hi everyone,
I would like to join this check-in also...I recently joined 10lbs weight loss by Christmas. I am going to Mexico the 2nd week of December & need to fit into my cute summer clothes by then...their all a bit tight.
Today I did 4DS-Low Intensity Step/Shoulders Calves & Core & then added about 20min of lunges & squats. I absolutely love the new series. My favorite is the kixckboxing/legs workout.
So my plan is to try & eat cleaner (this being my main problem)and follow the November rotation. Good luck to everyone.

Hello to everyone,

I started a a new post this morning for the new day but I guess we are continuing with this one instead.

Anyway, I got in my cardio workout in today, later I will do my upper and abs.

Kathy: I guess I might have to try out the 4-DS upper routine. It sounds like it is really different from the other routines.
I know Christmas isn't here yet but I just have to check it out to see what people are raving about.

I will have to come back later after I read all the other posts.

Hello! I had to do my workout late tonight, but I got it in! I love the Kickbox cardio - lots of fun.

I have a comment about the weights though. I can lift what Cathe lifts for legs on this DVD. I AM working hard, but at these weights I don't feel like I'm working to COMPLETE failure. Need to heavy up next time I guess. Anybody else feel this way?

Question about low plane lunges: Am I just missing it or does C not say what poundage she's lifting here? I used 12s in each hand and I'd have to say I worked to failure on these. I DETEST lunges, but I try to love 'em because I know they work (hurt) so good!

I know tomorrow is supposed to be a rest-ish day but I'm going to go to a local workout place for a class. It's only $1 on Saturdays in November. The class I'm going to take is Pilates/Cardio. (30 min. Pil., 30 min. Car.). I love cardio and I hate to miss it. Wednesdays usually end up being my rest days.

Hi guys. I just started the rotation. It's my 3rd time doing the high intensity step and I am still having trouble with combo #3. It's the part where you mambo on the step and then spin over, shuffle, pivot, hitch kick, etc. I love a good challenge!
 
I understand your comment about combo 3. I think I'm finally getting it together.

What is your workout today, ladies?! Pilates, yoga....??

I'm headed into town for an early Pilates, then cardio class.

Well, the class this AM was so-so. I'm definetly spoiled by Cathe. The Pilates was wierd. The instructor really didn't know what she was doing, to the point that I felt bad for her. The cardio was fun, but just not Cathe. Then there was this wierd weight segment that wasn't listed in the schedule. In my not-so-humble opinion, it wasn't safe. The amount of weight she said to use for everyone was too heavy for the faster movements she was doing. Not sure if I'll go back next week.

Anybody else working out today?
 
Did a swim instead of yoga or pilates. DD(7) likes me to swim while she's at swim lessons. Did just over 1 km in half a hour. May do some stretching or something later but now heading out to see ds's first hockey game of the season. Kim
 
Kate: sorry to hear your class turned out not so good...I know Cathe spoils me!! I haven't been back to a gym or classes since I started working out at home...Cathe is just too good!!

Getting ready to workout now. I am doing a pilates and an yoga DVD that The FIRM put out last year. These are the only workouts I have for pilates and yoga. I like them....NOt Cathe..but good..

Cab - good for you w/ the swimming. My DD had swim class too today, but we're not allowed to get in the pool. Wish I could at least go for a walk for the 45 minutes(!) I have to sit there, but she's 5 and wants me to stay right there.

Kathy - Hello! Haven't done the Firm in years. I need to check out the MTV reference I read here somewhere.

Going to a b'day party for a 10-y. old later. Send me clean-eating vibes! or at least portion-control cake vibes!

I did have some cake (hangs head in shame), but it was from my absolute favorite bakery. That was the only unclean thing I ate all day, so not too shabby (pats self on back. arm breaks off from patting too hard).

Looking forward to tomorrow's workout (although I won't be able to do it until after DDs go to bed at night). I love new cardio! I wish Cathe would come out with a new one at least once a month! A girl can dream....
 
Hi all wish I was checking in with a workout that I did today but...I couldn't fit it in. Between the boys hockey schedule birthday shopping and birthday parties just no time for me. I thought when I got home I would at least get on the TM but when I took one look at the kitchen I had to pick it up. My eating was OK I didn't even have Bday cake. Just fat free frozen yogurt. BUT..When I got home I did have a couple of fun size candy. I was being so good!!


May be tomorrow after the 6AM hockey game I will get a work out in. Sunday is usually my rest day but since I didn't do anything today I will make it up...

Lori and Kate: I wasn't very clean with eating either. I had a couple of fun size chocolates yesterday too. I have a bday party today. But, I think I can go with the cake. I will try anyway.

Checking in with LIS: shoulders, calves & core done for today...I liked this workout and the core work was killer...
 
Okay just finished LIS for the first time. I really enjoyed this one. I haven't been eating too well this weekend either, took dd and nephew to see the The Bee Movie last night and ate way too much popcorn.

Going to stay into today and do some house cleaning and tv watching as it is cold out, they're calling for some snow. Kim
