Not pregnant, but...

I took a test to see if I was lupus anti coagulative (sp?), and I just got the results. It's possitive. I'm actually very happy that they found out what is wrong. The downside is that I have to take a baby asprin everyday for the rest of my life, the upside is that they can give me a blood thinner while I'm pregnant and I will more than likely have a successful pregnancy! Can you believe it?! I'm so happy that I know what's wrong and it's fixable. Plus it probably helped to prolong my life, now I won't just get a blood clot someday and die for no reason. Oh this means that I clot easily I guess and that is the reason that the babies haven't been making it. I have been cloting and shutting off their blood supply or something like that.
Ok, that is all. I just thought I would share with all of you my good/bad news.

Kathy - I am so happy for you that you finally got some answers!!! What a relief for you! I will keep you in my prayers, and hopefully sooner than later your post will be about being pregnant!!! Thanks for posting!

Hi Kathy, I recently found out that I have a clotting factor problem too. If I am lucky enough to get pregnant (through IVF), knowing this new information may help to keep me from miscarrying again. My doctor also has me taking Folgard along with the baby asprin. Folgard is a prescription drug that is supposed to help with this condition too. Good luck and I hope you have a successful pregnancy soon!! :)

Hi Kathy

I'm very happy for you that you have now found out the reason behind your problems. Fingers crossed for you now that you go on to have a very successful pregnancy in the near future.

:)

Kathy, thanks for keeping us updated. We'll be prayin for a successful pregnancy, Lord willing. It really is helpful to "know" what the problem is - so many times they can't seem to find anything. Please continue to let us know how it's going!!!

I really hope to be joining you ladies in the near future. I don't think we'll be trying again, though until around Oct or Nov.
I can't tell you how relieved I am at finding this out. I thought for sure that I was going to go through a million tests only to hear, "we don't know why.". So, to have the first test come out possitive was an absolute blessing. At least we can get pregnant easily it seems, so now I just have to tell the doctor when I get pregnant again and he will put me on a blood thinner. I have read that they have an 80% success rate with now knowing that this condition exists and for women to take either a blood thinner or baby asprin.
Melanie, I knew there was a reason, besides the fact that you are so sweet that I liked you!
Thank you all for your support over the past year. You've really been a huge help for me.

Kathy

Dear Kathy, I didn't know that the success rate goes up to 80% with treatment. That is very encouraging. Thanks for posting.
