Non-workout shoe suggestions needed

I love my New Balance 1046BS walking shoes and have been wearing them everywhere except work for about 2 years. But I think it's high time I had a casual weekend shoe that I don't also wear to the gym to sweat in. I just ordered a pair of Ecco casual shoes from Zappos and they fit well, look good, but feel so mushy. It feels like there's no support, no sense of that "spring" in my step. Just two soft, mushy pancakes lying on my feet.

What brand of casual shoes do you like? I'm looking for something more stylish than just a workout sneaker, yet casual and comfortable. Any brand suggestions? Thanks!

Nancy

I like shoes by Born. You can get them at Dillard's nd I'm sure probably a lot of other department stores but also at J.Jill.com. They are kind of expensive but they are sooo comfortable and stylish looking too.

OOOHHH I second the Born the shoes!!! I got mine at Dillards too and they were on sale from $98.00 to $65.00 and I love them-I am on my feet all day and they are very comfortable. Check them out Nancy!

There are several brands that I love.

Sofft, Clarks (Privo) and Merrell. All of these have great casual walking around shoes. I wear them every day!

Jeannmarie, are you following me when I shop? :p

I love the Clark's Privos, I have 3 pair in different colors.

Nancy, the Bjorn shoes are AWESOME. I only bought them because I tramped all the way through a huge mall in my heels only to realize I was going to either have to buy shoes or walk in stockings back the other way, lol. Anyway, they are THE most comfortable shoes I have and they actually look really nice (once you get on board with the flat heel thing). I also have a pair of Eastland clogs which are really stylish and comfy as well. I do recommend going to a shoe store, though. I have found that the fit on this type of shoe is very odd and some of them just don't feel right. I just think that would be easier for you. :)

I love my Dansko clogs closed back clogs. They are pretty expensive, but I have had them for 3 years and wear them everyday (except for the summer).

I second the Born and Clark's votes. I have a pair of Clarks that I have had guys comment on - they look comfortable. And are.

I love my Danskos too! And they are getting much more stylish :)
I also like Anne Klein Flex and Liz Claiborne flex (very fashionable, but with arch support and padding in the heel and toe).

I love my Danskos! I have had them for about 7 yrs and they totally don't look it!
I have been eyeing Born shoes for a while, but hesitated because I wasn't sure about the comfort. Now I will have to check Dillards out for them! (as if I needed anymore shopping encouragement!)

Thanks everyone! I'm going to try to go shoe shopping very soon, and if I find something better, I'll send the Ecco shoes back. They're too expensive to just feel like Keds.

I have lots of Aerosoles, which are fine for my sedentary job, but for play, I'm always walking everywhere so I want to invest in one or two pairs of really high quality walking shoes. (That go with all my outfits, of course. :) )

I also like Born shoes and have been wearing the brand for about 7 years now. However, I recently developed a foot problem and have found Earth shoes to be very helpful. Deb

Now I have to go out of Catheland to WWW and start shopping! You guys need to stop these kind of posts....theres always something I realize I need!
