NON-CHECK-IN....March

Linda - LIC and PLB legwork can probably be done one day after the other. LIC is more sculpting work with barbell (light weight - I do) and hand weights. It is not too hard in terms of exercises - but, with her cardio/interval - LIC is a toughy! PLB is heavier weight - I really try to be straining near the end of the upper part. Next week - I have on target LIC and PLB/PLU! So - meet you there!

"The difference is I!" Stacy - I like that. Covert Bailey wrote a book entitled, Fit or Fat! He talks about focusing on the "Fit" part and less on the food. His formulas have been an inspiration to me. You may want to google his books - they are easy to read - short chapters - full of good information.

I really admire you doing STS - I hope to do STS sometime in the Fall. I worry about being too heavy to do some of those moves just yet and hurting myself.

Abs - thanks for the good words. Now - if only I could get my "Muffin Top" to disappear so I could see the results of my work. Wouldn't that be nice! ;)

Well - today was this week's weigh-in/check-in. The scale made no movement - but, I lost an 1.50"! My Body Fat test shows that I lost about 1/2 pound - but gained 2 pounds of muscle! So - good progress!

Did Body Fusion, Basic Abs on Stability Ball, BWO+ from T-Tapp, and Yoga from Yoga Journal yesterday.

My plans today are TurboJam Beginner, High Step, The Firm Core Solutions , Stretch Max! Should be interesting...

Gotta go get some groceries...

Blessings to you both!
Donna

I did the leg workout from STS today and omitted a few exercises that I knew would be hard on my knees but overall I still felt I got a good leg workout. The calf work at the end was killer! I followed that by STS triceps. My tricpes are on the weaker side and it seems that's always one of the body parts Cathe works last and by that time my muscles are so tired. Since I worked them today as the only upper body part I was able to focus on strength instead of fatigue!

I didnt do abs though :( My abs are a bit sore from yesterday's ab work, but I probably couldve done abs. My goal is to work abs 3 times this week!

Just wanted to wish you both a great and prosperous week. I am really looking forward to getting "more" healthy in the coming days. Thanks for your support and conversation!

Enjoy your week - remember "Stop your groaning and get going!"

Week 2 of Cathe's Week 2 Intermediate. Should be fun -

Donna

p.s. Along with my work on losing my "physical weight" - I want to work on losing some of my "mental weight" - some of the stressors that are bothering me. I am beginning to believe - worries and procrastinations and fears - add weight and burden to my body just as much as fat! So - off to work on this...wish me luck!

Amen to the mental weight! I'm with you there!

I have a social event coming up April 8th, so for the next 4 weeks, I'm setting up a mini goal not to eat snack foods, cookies, chips, fast food etc. I'm rewarding myself that night by not feeling 100% guilty if eat something I "shouldnt" at the party. I may even buy myself something nice to wear....though shopping usually has the opposite effect on my mood so we'll see.

This is moving on to week 2 of STS Mesocycle 2 for strength, hitting my goal of 3 ab workouts a week. For cardio...havent decided yet! I'm definitely feeling yesterday's leg workout today, though more in my butt than my thighs, not sure if that is good or bad!

Forgot to add....would you mind if I posted my meals here for the next 4 weeks to help keep me honest??

Non check in March

Hi Everyone,
I'm new here... March is a great month to get your motivation up! Still have a few weeks till Spring. I will do Body Max 2 today. I find it's a perfect workout for a Monday. So glad I found Cathe workouts.....there is nothing else like her!!!! Her style and energy is just perfect! :D

Stacy,

Would love to see the meals - I might do the same if I have time.

Today is elliptical, lower body sculpting, coremax, and stretching. I have got to get my rotation inputted into the rotation thread today as well. ;)

Working on stressor #1 today - will take all week, but going to give it my best.

Let's get going! :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

Donna

p.s. Welcome "hfischler!" :D Love Cathe as well...enjoy BodyMax!

Welcome hfischler!

LIC, yep it's a toughy Donna, gotter done! I should've been doing those pushups..ugghh, did the ab work even though yesterday was coremax, the regular LIC doesn't have that extra blast at the end like the premix, okay with me!

I think I confused that ab w/o with another that uses the ball or the glute work in PLB...when I talked about it before, oh well.

We'll keep ya honest Stacy;) I'd like to see that too. Donna's doing a pretty good job of keeping me honest on the workouts, thank you. Knee issues, Stacy, could this be alignment? Strong Knees really helped me watch mine, just a thought.

With the weather cooperating, yea, it's a great time to get motivated, make some goals, & stick to 'em!

Please somebody kick my butt! My eating today....embarassing to report, but that's why I wanted to report it here, to keep myself honest...

Breakfast....black coffee

"Snack"....50 calorie Cranberry juice

Lunch....1/2 roast beef on a bagel, bag of chips (160 cals) and a darn chocolate chip cookie...not a small one, one of those BIG ones :( :( (My entire lunch was 900 calories!! Holy Moly!!)

SO....if I can keep my dinner relatively light and low cal the whole day won't be a total wash. I'll check back. I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night and I have a headache right now. There's a decent chance I wont workout tonight. I just have no energy at the moment. But, I'll check back later!

Who loses weight in their feet?

Stacy, Stacy, Stacy...I am shaking my head...

Check out these new shoes...Kohl's has the 25%-50% sale, conveniently sending me emails every hour on the hour, I succumbed...

Only because my other asics, beloved dark brown/coffee are too big, this is the second time, first the wide crosstrainers, then my walkers...who loses weight in the feet??????

Stacy - looks like a tough day - if you get this before dinner - fill up on some fruits and veggies - it looks like your protein and carbs (and sugars ;)) are okay! I find that when I do not get enough sleep and/or I cannot get a good breakfast - I am chasing my calories all the way to bedtime (usually making the wrong choices)! Tomorrow is another day - and you still have tonight.

Just think how far we have all come - watching what we eat, exercising, tackling tough goals. We are changing.

It is not a SPRINT - it's a JOURNEY! :p

Love the shoes Linda! I have ASICS and love them!

Still have some fun exercise to do this evening. Been running my girls around to ballet, etc. Still have some stressors to deal with - but, facing them as head on as I can!

Blessings,
Donna

Donna

Linda, thanks for the disgust in me ;) Seriously, I need someone to have some "tough love" with me instead of the "there's always tomorrow" speech which I use far too often on myself to justify bad choices.

Dinner was a salad and a small portion of pasta with veggies in an olive oil garlic sauce with about 1/2 chicken breast. No clue on the calories, probably shouldve stopped with the salad but who knows, maybe I wouldve gotten hungry later.

Planning my meals etc gets tough for me. I have IBS and it's always giving me trouble in the mornings which is why alot of times I dont eat breakfast. If I did eat breakfast, I'd be in the bathroom all morning and literally late for work. So what happens is I get hungry mid morning. But I work in a lab and no food/snacks are allowed. I tend to sip a fruit juice when I can run to the "food area" instead of having food which may sit there for awhile. So, by lunchtime I'm ravenous and reach for things like gigantic cookies that I dont need! I usually dont eat that stuff at work but we had work catered and i was tired and hungry and sleep deprived and ate it. No excuse, but that's the story. I usually am rushed at lunch time at work so I dont want to stuff myself and eat fast so I usually have yogurt or some veggies and that doesnt seem to irritate my IBS. However, I'm hungry an hour or two later, and again same story, cant have snacks around, so by the time I get home for dinner I'm ravenous again and eat terribly. Even when I plan my dinners, I dont often eat what I have planned b/c healthy food doesnt sound as appealing as "comfort food" when you've been hungry most of the day. It's a big viscous cycle and would LOVE some ideas as to how to stop the cycle!

I just took a hot bath b/c my lower half is so sore from STS legs! I'm going to skip my workout tonight, rest up and get a good workout in tomorrow AND a better eating day!

I really didn't know what to say, Stacy, I don't know about the IBS or how your work goes, I think getting good sleep & eating breakfast....?

wow, Donna looks daunting, that schedule, you must do the extra step at the end? of LIC? I wasn't sure why that was after the stretch, it's on the cardio premix too after all the other combo/blasts. I wouldn't at all be surprised at your progress with that schedule:) that's like training, that is, good for you!

I'm going to stick to my March rotation, I have two more rotations, similar style, and will add some other exercises, push ups, sit ups (does anyone even call them that anymore?) & kicks, limited range I have, ya know:eek:

I think Stacy should eat like you eat, I want too!

Linda

Linda - the rotation is what I am AIMING for! Gotta set the bar high. If I achieve 80% - then, success. Thanks for the food comment - I love to cook - it is one of my passions! I believe that is why I gained weight - just food appreciation on my part!

Stacy - I forgot about your IBS - let me think on that. I am a part of a forum of cooks that choose to cook as healthy as possible. Let me run past them your concerns and see what I can get for you. Now - I understand the light/no breakfast. I WOULD JUST DIE!

See you tomorrow!
Donna

Your rotation wears me out just looking at it Donna! Where do you find the time??? I'm so jealous. I'm up everyday at 6am, out the door usually by 7 or 8 and work til about 6pm and sometimes later 1-2 days a week and work one weekend a month so I sometimes have to remember that and not beat myself up when I feel too tired to workout!

Wishing you all a great day! Look forward to hearing about all your adventures.

I am trying to prevent a UTI - I have only had one in my lifetime - but, the "feeling" :( is memorable. AARRRGGHHH!

My hallway to my bedroom where I work out keeps getting longer and longer (kinda like The Matrx ending scene) - just procrastinating on Low Impact Circuit. ;)

BTW - Stacy - I am a stay-at-home mom who homeschools - although my day is pretty harried - my schedule is less demanding than working ladies. :D I try to do my workouts early in the morning around 5:00 - but, sometimes it is around lunchtime (like today) after the girls get a chunk of schoolwork done!

All is well here - keep up the great work!

Blessings,
Donna

:D:D:D:D:D hi everybody

PLB today, I did a little 15 minute walk warm up, some kicks & arm exercises, BTW Donna I particularly enjoy that part of LIC, it goes so well with the rest of the workout, you warm up, step, & then do those dynamic stretches...love it, it's a great starter...

How do you like High Step Circuit?

Stacy, I've tried dividing up what I want to do into smaller pieces with workouts, maybe you could do that with your meals? I did the premixes of LIC separate, and PLB/PUB separate before putting them in a rotation, my CCKB DVD is set up that way, punches, kicks, then combinations...try getting your mornings under control maybe? then snacks? then dinner? you can do this, & why would you think you can't?:D

mourning the demise of my Asic Gel SD After Dark/Toffee/Latte sneaks, they even have a cool description...Waaaaaaaa!:(

We had such a long standing relationship...yep I'm weird like that, buyers remorse.

Have a great day if it's sunny where you are, get some!
Linda

AAHHH! Cranberry Juice! Seems to be helping - or, I will have to go to the doctor!

2nd AAAHHH! Low Impact Circuit DONE! I have a LOVE:)/HATE:mad: relationship with that DVD. It is really tough for me. And, ending with abs just about does me in! Linda - I don't do that bonus cardio so the minutes should be 71 minutes. I haven't even looked at it. I might try it with High Step Circuit or for just a boost when I just can't do a full workout...thanks for the heads up. Never noticed that on the back of the DVD...

Linda - High Step Circuit is a fun DVD - if you notice on my rotation, I added a small cardio PRIOR to the DVD because my heart rate did not get high enough in the DVD itself. I really liked the types of exercises in the DVD as well - creative and different. It has been awhile since I did it - I plan on doing it this week (was not able to do it last week - too tired). I will give you an update when I do it!

Stacy - YOU OK?!

Blessings,
Donna
