Non-Cathe Workouts

Cathlete
What non-Cathe workouts do you all do?? I recently got and love Kelly Coffey's Get Ready, Step, Go! Now I am thinking of trying her other one - The Shape of things to Come. Has anyone tried this one? and if so do you like it? I was also thinking of trying Pam Cosmi (I don't know if I spelled it the right way). Did anyone try her workout and if so what do you think??
Thanks JaneJ

Lately, I do most often, but in no particular order of importance:
TLT's
Tony Horton (P90X, PHH, P90 masters)
The Firm
Powerstrike (best kickboxing workouts)
Cardio Coach
Fit Ball Upper and Lower Body Challenge

I also have workouts by Karen Voight, Gin Miller (Intense Moves is the best!), and Tamilee Webb, Tae Bo and Core Secrets, and odds and ends of workouts by other instructors.

I want to get more into Mindy Mylrea: I just picked up a couple of her older workouts (2000-2001) on DVD and they look great! Athletic and powerful. I also preordered some of her new ones (A Boot Camp, a Glute DVD and an Ab DVD)

I just tried this one the other day and really liked it. It's not quite as "advanced" as Cathe, but it was very good. She is an excellent instructor, easy to follow. The time went by very quickly. She does a short cardio segment, then does a body part with weights, then another cardio segment, then repeats that particular body part (she does two sets of each body part, with cardio segments in between each set). The cardio segments are very short, but very easy and I had no trouble following the first time around (this was the first time I ever tried one of her tapes). I really enjoyed it. I have a ton of exercise tapes, so I've gotten to the point that if they aren't good, I'm not keeping them. I'm definitely keeping this one -- it's a nice change!

I concur with jthorton regarding In The Shape of Things To Come. I like it too. I think you can make this more intense, but I have only done this once, so I haven't gotten that far yet. It's more of an upper body workout with a little cardio mixed in. I find the weight work pretty original compared to Cathe and others I have. it's a keeper for me.

JaneJ,

I absolutely love Get Ready Step Go! She goes from one thing to another - it is one of the only step workouts that I do on 6" step and I am dripping wet when I am done. I would say it is my favorite step workout for now.

I do have and have done The Shape of Things to Come - it is a good workout only 52 minutes - the cardio sections are short, but fun - the weight sections are done with lighter weights and that doesn't seem to be too intense. I tend to like it a little more intense - she also does an ab section - I guess overall I would say it is good for circuit training.

But Pam Cosmi's Cardio Sculpt is very good - the intensity is on the higher level - she has a great warm up then she uses the bands for lunges and curtsy lunges - then on to weights (walking lunges, side squats, plie jump squats) to cardio on the floor to one legged squats to side lunges - she does band work while on the step for the upper bosy, which is a real killer, too.

She has an awesome core segment also that you will definitely feel. This DVD is really worth it. She does have some kind of a nervous habit with her mouth - I learned to get past it - at first I thought she was chewing gum.

Pam Cosmi's Step with Rhythm is good - but it is a little harder to follow, maybe a little dancier - but definitely fun and a good workout.

I hope that helps.

Thanks for all your input. I absolutely love Get Ready, Step, Go too. I have been doing it almost every cardio workout since I got it. I hope she does another one just like it.
