OK ladies since Shelley asked me to do the check-in while she is having fun on the roadtrip here it is. It just turned midnight so I wanted to get this up before I go to bed so you earlyy risers and eastern time zones can have it here when you wake up. :)

More Water-check
No salt-check
No Sweets-check

Hey I actually did well ! Wonder if the road trippers will behave themselves with this challenge. I sure wouldn't if I was there. :) Hope eveyone remembers to post since the forums will probably be dead with so many gone. Have a great TGIF!

Terri

Morning Terri,

I did good yesterday. DH's Tostitos are still in the house but I haven't touched them, not one. I am so proud of myself

Water - check
No sweets - check (though I am overdue for my treat this week)
No salty snacks - check

YAY!!!

I was wondering that myself Terri, if the roadtrippers could stick to their challenges. If it was me, this being a getaway weekend that doesn't come around often, if I cheated, so be it. I'd start back on Monday.

Good going Jane and Terri!

I'm doing good.
More than enough water-check
No salty snacks-check
No sweets-check

I'd do the same Jane. To hec with the challenge, and get back on it Monday. I have to admit tho, I'm glad we're here and are not planning to do that!}(
DH&DS's had McDonalds last night & I did not give in! I feel like I am working way too hard to put that stuff in my body. I could've had a salad, but I had all the stuff for salads at home so why waste the money.
Have a good day all to follow! Stay away from that STUFF!:7

Thanks for keeping the post going Terri!

Morning everyone!

Just checking in before I leave in about an hour to go to the airport.

Yesterday was good. Avoided the salt and drank more than my fair share of water.

I'm pretty sure I can avoid salty snacks this weekend, and with all the workouts, I bet I'll get in gallons of water.

Have a great weekend and BE STRONG:)

Hey everyone,

All I can say is that I failed in all areas. It's really hard to get back to eating clean. I was somewhat disciplined weeks ago and now everything is terrible. I thought things would come together but it is harder than I thought. But all I can do is try again today.

I should be eating major clean because of not being able to do cardio. How stupid can I get!

I will try again today. But I'm very positive!!

Kim, please do not get down on yourself! I go through periods like that, too. The ironic part is that when I don't work out is when I eat the worst, same as you. There is something about excercising that makes you want to eat better. Like...."Geez, I just worked my butt off and now I am going to put THAT in my mouth! Uh-uh, don't think so. AWAY FROM ME SATAN!"

Is there any activity that you are able to do? If you aren't able to do anything, perhaps just doing basic yoga poses and deep breathing will be enough to motivate you.

How about this....today, whenever you want to put something bad in your mouth, post and ask us to talk you out of it, kay? There will definately be someone on to help you, and maybe even just posting will be enough for you. It helps me when I know that I have someone to go to for support.

yesterday was a good day for me, plenty of H2O, no salt, and I don't know if this counts.... I baked some banana blueberry bread with whole wheat and turbinado. It is pretty healthy. I had a slice after dinner and for breakfast today. Am I just rationalizing? (I have been using that word alot when it comes to my eating!!!)

Have a great day everyone!!!

Missy

No sweets, no problem. I did eat chips and dip yesterday *hangs head* but only a little, and yes, I was craving something salty. Coauld be all the sweatinng from the heat, yanno? That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Not a problem. ;) My husband just told me the Tour de France riders average 9,000 calories a day. That's what I eat in 5 days! And water, no problem. Never a problem except it refuses to rain on the parched desert of Tucson and we are jonesing for some rain. Every body rain dance right now.

Hi everyone,

Another day that's going good.

We need the rain here in Denver too so there's a rain dance goin' on in my office.

Diana

Hey Missy,

It means alot that I can turn to all of you. All I can do is upperbody weights and abs. Cardio is out of the question right now. It could be months before I can. I have attempted before and had set myself back. So it is the utmost importance that I eat clean. And I know I will eventually get back on my clean eating.

So far I ate a few spoonfuls of sherbert and ate macaroni and cheese, that my daughter cooked for theirselves. I feel very guilty over that, but I have the rest of the day to improve.

All of you ladies are the best. I know I can come to you with anything. There are not very many people in my family who could care less or even understand what I'm going through.

I am going to try to walk maybe even 10 or 15 mins on the treadmill till I can go longer. My foot will definitely let me know.

kim

Atta girl Kim, you've got the right attitude. Walk on that treadmill, not too fast so as not to impact your foot too much. Get in your water. Post when you need help. Kim, I know it is so hard to get back to eating clean. I have been there many, many times. Sometimes the frustration just makes it worse. Get on here and talk to us when you need to. There are several of us around today.

ETA - Bobbi, I will dance a little jig here and face the direction of Arizona when I do it!!!

RE: No sweets, salt, more water check-in - July 15, 20...

OMG - I was planning the Viper for today.... I just it is hours and hours of rain dancing now....:p

RE: No sweets, salt, more water check-in - July 15, 20...

Hello everybody! I've been doing ok so far (with the water, sugar and salt), but last night I had more vanilla bean ice cream x(. It is very hard to eat the way we are supposed to! I said it last month and I say it again, I feel like an addict sometimes. Maybe I'm addicted to bad food. Who knows? At least I have this check-in and you always remind me that there are good days and bad but there's always tomorrow to start all over again. I hope you all have a great weekend. And I'm also hoping to see good pics of the road trip when Shelley comes back.

Kim - Don't feel bad. You can do better today. Small steps are better than no steps at all.

Bobbi - Isn't it hard to do everything when the heat is unbearable? I hope you get rain soon!

RE: No sweets, salt, more water check-in - July 15, 20...

Jane, you're probably being cheated, even with hours and hours of rain dancing. Viper, ouch! You are dear to me, though, to dance the rain dance with me. On the bright side, it only supposed to be 106 today! :D

Rose, this is ridiculous. The other day I was no my way to yoga and at 4:57 and 111 degrees. Boo. Hey, I only buy coffee ice cream for my kids because I can't eat it unless I want to stay up all night and I don't want to stay all night because I wake up looking like a crone and I hate that look on me. Vanilla bean ice creams does sound wonderful, I have to say. :D But don't feel bad, every one is addicted to something and, for the most part, our addictions to exercise and mostly clean foods are the good kind! I haven't given chocolate much thought lately but, all of a sudden, I was unable to resist potato chips and ranch and I usually have no problem with that. What's up with that? I ate a single serving and ohterwise ate with pristine cleanliness. My husband mocked by whole wheat and corn tortillas as he ate his white one. He just doesn't know what good IS! I got 6 grams of fiber and he got a belly ache from, ha ha, coffee ice cream which he ate, in spite of lactose issues, because, lol, there's no chocolate in the house. Bwa ha ha ha }(

RE: No sweets, salt, more water check-in - July 15, 20...

Bobbi you crack me up! I know how it is when it gets hot. I live in Puerto Rico (kinda like AZ in the summer but with more humidity) but thank goodness we've been getting rain for the past few weeks. I can't imagine doing yoga in 111 degrees ouch! that's even hotter than most Bikram yoga studios where they heat the studios to 105 degrees! I could never drag my butt to a Bikram yoga class. I bought some videos and did them at home (with a fan running:7 ) although I used to go to Ashtanga classes years ago. While you wait for some rain be sure to keep drinking plenty of fluids and don't use the heat as an excuse not to workout (that was me awhile ago, but I don't do it anymore).

Rose, our monsoon isn't supposed to start until the end of next week. It is very late! But it IS windy, a condition I like to call Mother Nature's Blowdryer. Still, humidity is worse because at least we sweat very efficiently and I drink water like it's going out of style and I won't be crying over the $280.00 electric bill because what good would that do, really? I will never take a Bikram class and tend to favor the instructor's who are not stingy with the A.C. :D
