No Sweets March 4 - 10

Affirm

Cathlete
Hello Ladies. I haven't checked in for a few days. I am glad everyone is doing well. I am still enjoying the challenge as it definitely helps me keep things reasonable.

I started my morning with a part of Cardio Fusion. However, I made homemade waffles and sausage for breakfast. Gotta eat good before heading out to church :9 . I had turkey and roastbeef on whole wheat and an orange for lunch. Haven't decided on dinner yet.

I see that you all have been talking about rotations and ways to modify your program the last few days. I haven't tried a rotation before. I guess I need to mix things up a little and focus on how to change my workout program. I usually just do step one day and did a weight tape (upper body) the next.

At the end of the 2nd month of this challenge, my weight averages about 141 which is the same as it was the end of Jan. That is where I like my weight. I am 5 ft. 7 and wear a size 6. When I keep my weight range between 140 - 142, I feel good. My goal is to continue to maintain this weight and keep the tummy down my limiting the junk food. Before I started the challenge on Jan. 1st, I had gained and weighing around 147.5 and my 6's were getting tight.

I know we are calling this a no sweets challenge, but it is evident that we all are minimizing our sweets in addition to cleaning up our overall diet by limiting junk food and getting in more veggies and fruits.

Let's continue to support each other as we focus on our goals for the month of March. Have a great week ladies!

Affirm and I were posting at the same time...lol!

Well I copied my other post and I'm going to paste it here.

Hi ladies. I hope you're fine. Well I tried not to cheat yesterday, but it was impossible. Oh well... I've been staying away from junk today and I'm supposed to do yoga. We'll see if I find time with all the stuff I have to do before tomorrow. If not, tomorrow I'm definitely doing some cardio + PS:SL&A and I upped the weights for most of my PS exercises so that means I'm going to burn some extra calories this week. After I'm done with ttom I'm going to focus again on losing 2-3lbs this month. It's going to be hard, but I'm going to try my best. I hope you all have a nice week!

Great post Affirm!! I'm with ya. This check in has really helped me focus. It sounds like it's really working for you. Good job keeping your where you want it!!

I had never done a rotation till P90X and I loved it. Usually don't follow Cathe rotations but just jumped into the Nov rotation and am seeing decent results. So I may stick to following a rotation for a while.

Hello Ladies ~ How was everyone's weekend?

I am really loving this challenge also, it def. helps me stay on track. I behaving the majority of the week, well except for Thurs & Friday...:) Thank you everyone for letting me join you all!!

Eating went well all weekend, well except for tonight. I had Chicken Alfredo & a Mudslide for dessert...YUMMY :p
Now my workouts are another story...I am still sore from Meaner Legs on Friday evening. I started to do Drill Max earlier this morning, got to the 3rd Drill and stopped...I am sooo MAD at myself. I just did not have the energy at all to finish! Tomorrow is another day, did more shopping w/ my BF all day....so I guess all the walking around the mall helped a little...:)
Looking for a dress. Our work is holding a Gala @ the Baltimore Harbor on 3/17/07. It's supposed to me alot of fun (my 1st year going). They pay 1/2 of the hotel room for us, dinner, dancing, & open bar...:)

Have a great evening!
Take Care ~

Hi Catherine,

Basically looking for that Perfect Little Black Dress, you know one I can always wear after. Found a few, but I think I fell in love w/ a red dress that was in the window of Forever 21. It's actually the last one they have, so I put it on hold. On Friday when they change the display window they are going to give me a call.

Then it's shoes, make-up, nails....LOL Never ends, but it is going to be a Great Time!

OK, did well today with no sweets. Again need veggies!!! I really need to find something that works better for me to get in those veggies. I am just so darn picky!!

I did DM today and a total of 14 chinups. I was tired at the start and now I am really tired!!! Tomorrow is yoga (I am subbing yoga in for the run that is on the rotation- I don't like running).

How has everyone's Monday been???

I didn't sleep well last night, but I'm tired of excuses and there's no way I was going to skip yet another workout. Yesterday I wanted to do yoga, but couldn't and I ended up doing a short warm-up followed by segment 1 of Stretch max. Today I got home early and I didn't feel tired so I did a killer workout: DM cardio blast premix (skipped the stretch at the end) and PS:SL&A (skipped the warm-up). I feel great! I cheated again today with a little bit of strawberry ice cream but that's about it. I think I'm also doing yoga tomorrow. Well I'm off to watch 24. Have fun ladies.

It is TTOM and I just couldn't help but have a few oatmeal raisin cookies. I have to get through these days. I also didn't exercise today either. Tomorrow will be better hopefully.

lol! I did the total opposite. Didn't eat clean and didn't do yoga, but I'm going to bed in a couple of minutes. I need a full night sleep. I didn't sleep well last night either so that's two days of not sleeping well. Tomorrow is a new day. :)

Last night I didn't sleep well either so that's three nights in a row. Today I had a really stressful day, but I was determined to workout. I feel a migraine coming so I had to stop after doing about 30 mins of cardio (I was planning cardio + PS CST). So that's what I did, just 30 mins of cardio and I did my own stretches. I think I just have try and do yoga tomorrow because it puts my mind at ease and I really need that right now. I had a really tough week planned in terms of workouts, but the week is not turning out like I was expecting so I'm going to forget about working out until Friday and I'll start all over again. It seems that these past few weeks I've been cheating on my diet more than usual and not exercising. I want to lose 2-3 pounds this month so I better start doing what I need to do.

Oh and one of my dogs has something in his skin and he doesn't want me to come close to check it out. It looks like a bald spot that got infected. I have no idea where he could've gotten that. Maybe a scratch gone bad? I don't know. I tried to get him in my car to take him to the vet, but he thought he was going for a walk, when he saw I opened the car door he immediately knew he was going to the vet and he hates going to the vet so he got out of the car and started running. I will give it a week and see what I can do. So not a good week for me so far, I feel blue and overwhelmed. I just hope in a couple of days things will be back to normal.

(((((((((ROSE)))))))))) I am sorry you are having such a tough week. And your doggie sick too. I don't blame you for taking some time off. When I get that way there is just no way mentally that I can workout and be effective. So I just give myself permission to veg out. You'll bounce back!!

I didn't sleep well last night either X( I don't know why but I woke up wide awake at 2:30 and couldn't go back to sleep! I did have some ice cream cake today celebrating my nephew's birthday. Just a little piece though. Otherwise did ok.

Hello Ladies. I hope everyone is sleeping and feeling better now.

As for me, TTOM is not going well. I have eaten something sweet each day this week so I hope this will pass. I have exercised 3 days this week, so I am doing okay with that. My regular meals are fine too, just getting in my sweet treats.

Affirm, I hope you are feeling better soon!! It sounds like you are doing well this week all things considered.

I think sometimes we are too hard on ourselves. We need to allow a retreat from clean eating and exercising periodically. It's just that sometimes it's hard to get back on track after that retreat. I just set a goal. Kind of like Rose did and say OK Friday is the day I start back and make myself stick to it!!!

Keep up the good work ladies!!

Well, yesterday was a major off day. After spending 3 hours at the doggie behavior specialist and going 6 hours without eating I ate at McDonalds X( I know, I know. I was stressed and very very hungry!!

Today has been better with the eating. I did LIC this morning and I also accomplished a major goal I had set. I did 5 chinups in one set!!! I was almost there last July and then had a set back with my sciatica and then one thin after another and another,... you get the picture. I thought I'd never get to 5, but I did today. Now on to 6!!

How's everyone else doing???

TGIF!

I also took a rest day yesterday. My week was tough. My dog has a minor infection that was probably due to a scratch, maybe he fought with the other dog, I really don't know what happened, but he was put on antibiotics and the wound is starting to heal. Like I said, I was going to start over again today and I did. My diet has been clean and I did one of my bootcamp style weekend workouts with cardio + PS: SL&A + PUB abs + additional leg floorwork. I didn't miss a beat. Maybe I had tons of extra calories to burn. Now that I'm done with ttom I'm determined to lose at least 2-3 pounds this month because I get one week off on Easter. I'm going to see relatives and friends and I want to look the best that I can. :)

Catherine, I hope your dogs start to get along soon.

I hope you all have a nice weekend ladies.
