No Motivation Today!

It's snowing. The Xmas tunes are on, the tree is lit, DH just made a fresh pot of coffee and I am still in my pajamas. I couldn't feel less like working out (MIS) but yesterday was my lovely day off from it, so I must!

Someone give me a push!

Just tell yourself to put your workout clothes on, and say... ok I'll sip one more sip of coffee, do that and then say, "I'll just do the warm up," and by then you are into it and before you know it you're done!
 
I agree: put on your workout clothes, even start playing the workout you intend to do (choose one that really makes you want to join in), then just do it! Remember: you have to take a shower sometime today anyway, so you might as well get sweaty before you do! (That psychology often works for me!).
 
Another thing is just say you will do just 10 mins... I never do just 10 mins... that works too!

Maybe you are working out now ;)
 
Actually, sounds like it's time to put on "It's a Wonderful Life" and eat toast in front of the idiot box!

I'm going to Clare's house for a movie and toast. I'll be wearing my favorite sweat pants. Clare, I'm making soup--I'll bring some along!

We all have days like these. Like previous suggestions, I often go ahead and put on my workout clothes and get started and once I do I'm usually totally into it by the time the WU is over. THERE are exceptions though and if you exercise regularly and this is a fluke that won't turn into days, weeks, months of not exercising then you may just need to enjoy an extra day of rest. I savor those days I stay in my p.j.'s and drink coffee and just enjoy a warm house and the company of my hubby...in the busy hustle and bustle of life, we all need to take and savor those days when the opportunity presents itself. Let us know what you ended up doing!

I did work out. DH had to show a house at noon, so I did MIS while he was gone. And he wanted us to walk in the snowy woods when he got back so I actually did more than I originally planned! Felt great!!

Now I'm in front of the woodstove til bedtime. Woo hoo!
