Nike Retail Therapy Joy!!!!

BelovedHeather

I struck gold today! :7 Nike gold that is! ;-) Lime green actually! I had a very successful day of Nike retail therapy. :) I was searching for new Nike Shox for kickboxing. I wanted a pair with lime green trim and a pair with blue trim. I found both together at Finish Line! :) That is a hot combination this season! These are Nike Air Max (not Nike Shox). They are unbelievably cushy and the most comfortable shoes I have ever had on my feet. I cannot wait to try sequential power kicks in these babies! I need to buy another pair when they go on sale. They are super cute too. Joy, joy, joy! :7

The turquoise Nike top (see Cedie and Denise) is still available at Academy. If you find that style online, I would highly recommend ordering a larger size if you have any “fluff” on your abs or around your waist. I tried on the size I usually wear in Nike tops, and “stuffed sausage” does not even begin to describe what was staring back at me. That top runs small and is very tight and unforgiving. I bought a lime green Nike top in a different style that is still not suitable for public viewing but at least will not be a shock to me when I see myself in the mirror! ;-) I bought a pair of matching capris with lime green around the waistband. Cute, cute, cute. :) I bought a matching lime green sports bra too. Gotta be coordinated. ;-) It was all on sale. Even though I exercise at home, I still love Nike workout clothes. They are so nice and supportive, and I burn more calories when I look cute. :7 Yes, I do! ;-) The capris I wore during the Road Trip still look like new after countless washings. I also split my cheaper Nike capris (not the nice pair I wore during the Road Trip), so I had a good excuse for a new pair! I love this material!

There is a lot of lime green and different shades of blue in the stores this season if you love those colors as much as I do. I have been searching for the red top for Kathy S. without success. I did find that color in a Nike tee similar to what Brenda is wearing in the first blog pictures but with the word “Nike” on the front.

I am fired up and ready to blast off a new cardio and circuit training rotation in the morning. :7 Cute Nike clothes are great for inspiration! :)

Blessings,
Heather B.

Finish Line and Academy

Katie:

I found the shoes (Nike Air Refresh +) at Finish Line:

The color is not accurate in the picture (on my monitor). The green is a brighter lime in person. (It looks like a mint green on my computer.) The blue is brighter too. They are running shoes (not cross training shoes), but I believe they will work for kickboxing. I will post a review tomorrow night after I give them a whirl in the morning. They have a lot of forefront cushioning. I wear Nike Shox Rhythmic studio training shoes for step and hi-lo workouts and have other shoes for boot campy workouts and weight workouts.

I found the clothes at Academy (which is a Texas store):

I have a dial-up connection at home, and I am not able to search for the tops tonight.

Carole, thanks for the smiley!

RE: Finish Line and Academy

Heather,

I saw the bluebonnets and realized you must be from Texas, what part do you live in? I'm in Plano about 12 miles north of downtown Dallas.

I decided to look for the top, and found it at Sports Authority, alas, not in red. (At least I think this is it. If not, just ignore my post, LOL!)

Some of the other colors are on clearance. After reading Heather's post, I went to my local store and tried them on to check the size. They definitely run small! My local store had the black, white and grey, plus some patterned styles, at full price. There were also a couple of pale yellow on clearance, but those were rather see-through.

So I came home and ordered some online.

Thanks for the info Heather! I was so happy to see that they are mostly cotton, my preferred workout fabric. It seems to be getting harder to find lately.

Kathy, if you're interested in the other colors, I went to the Perimeter Pointe Sports Authority. I plan to check out Roswell Road later in the week!

Heather -

You are getting me inspired to go check out the Nike stuff... And being in the land of Nike here in Portland - AND... well.. my girlfirend works there - so I get passes to the Nike employee store... everything is at least 50% off.... Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that... hehe... no throwing sticks please... :)

I have to 2nd the Nike capris - I have several pairs and they still hold up after several months of washing... and I swear they dont show dimples like other workout pants I own...

Gonna have to give her a ring and check on getting a pass... :)

Another Nike hint - for those in need of a great running shoe - you cant go wrong with the Nike Pegasus. Even better that they are in the mid-price range. My gf's boss runs 60 miles a week in them and has tried every shoe at Nike and goes right back to the Pegasus every time...
