Night Sweats?

Calee

Cathlete
I have never experienced these until becoming pregnant. Did any of you mommies go through this with your pregnancies? How long do they last and what did you do to manage them? For the past couple of nights I've been waking up shivering in soaked clothes and sheets!
I should have mentioned that I'm 14 weeks, hopefully this is an early-pregnancy thing?
TIA, Calee

I just had my 3rd and that's not somehting I ever experienced. I did sweat like a pig tho AFTER I had them. Would wake up DRENCHED! It was kind of funny actually!

Maybe it's your body getting used to the increased blood volume. You're warmer and that's how your body is dealing with it maybe.????..

Sorry I couldn't be more help...hope it stops soon for you!

Calee,
I got those too but I believe they stopped before the 3rd trimester. I thought I had a fever the first time it happened!:p I just laid a big towel down on the bed so I wouldn't have to change the sheets when I woke at night. It also seemed to help if I was dressed MORE warmly - are you cold at night? Good luck:)

I remember having those with my LO. It wasn't until after I had the baby though that I would wake up, like you, completely drenched. It was crazy and I never did figure it out. It did eventually go away but lets just say, I did a lot of wash during that time. If you ask your doctor, let us know what they say. I'm curious. :)

Oh great, so I might get to deal with these after the baby comes too?! :) I think I'll start to lay out a big towel as someone mentioned so I don't have to pull off all the sheets in the night, good idea.
I thought they might be more of a hormonal thing, but more blood volume makes sense too, I think that was Kate's theory? I'll ask next time I go to the Dr. and see what she has to say. Thanks Bethany for the towel suggestion, hopefully it helps.

Yep, I got these during my pregnancy. And I'm sorry to say that at 5 mos pp, I still get them! :(
I wake up feeling like I'm on fire, kick off all the blankets, and then in 2 minutes, I'm freezing.
It's a nightly ritual!

I got them also after i had baby. I only had them for a couple weeks. It was awful waking up all wet. I didnt know what was going on. Its prolly just hormones that are doing this. I would expect this after you have baby too. Sorry!!

ugh..night sweats. I know I was a lot warmer when I was pregnant (though it was also summer :) ), but I REALLY got night sweats after birth. Like the others, I would wake up with my pajamas soaking wet. Yuck. I had my LO 12 weeks ago, and I still think I'm a lot warmer at night.
