Newbie- need suggestion on best cardio workout

Hi! I usually go to the gym for my workouts and I particularly love kickboxing and spinning. Not a fan of step. As far as Cathe's videos go, which one do you recommend? I'm tired of all these kickboxing videos that last just a half hour and I barely break a sweat. I want something similar to a class I take at New York Sports Club...it is high intensity, non stop cardio and a tough workout. Something that at least lasts 45 minutes to an hour.

Which video do you recommend for me? I also enjoy dance aerobics. Like I said though, not a fan of step.

I'm thinking of kickmax but I'm not convinced it's there to keep your heart rate up. I appreciate your advice!

Thanks!

Kick, Punch, & Crunch is Cathe's best kickboxing workout!

I also have Kickmax but it's more cardio than kickboxing to me. The blasts will definitely get your heart rate up there, though.

And I have never been a fan of step, but then I tried Cathe's step! A world of difference, believe me. Her earlier stuff is much easier to learn and helps you with the newer workouts... I am now a step junkie!

Good luck!
Marie

I have three of Cathe's Kickboxing workouts. Cardio Kicks, Kick, Punch and Crunch and Kick Max. I like them all. I like KPC the best, but I love the intensity of Cardio Kicks (it's more "dancey" than the others - the others are more Kick Boxing).

Honestly, my favorite workout is a mix of all three. I love Kick Max's blast (15 minutes of gasping for air cardio). I love KPC's combinations, and I love Cardio Kicks drills. I know that doesn't help, but if I had to choose one, it would be KPC. It also has a fabulous leg workout with it.

I also agree with Marie when she said that Cathe step is different. If you do decide to go with Cardio Kicks, it comes with Circuit Max that is a great circuit workout - it has two Hi/Lo segments with two kick box segments (one on the step which is a blast - we're pushing for a whole step kickbox workout) and two step segments. It'll get your heart rate up there and keep it there, even through the weight training portions. But, it will give you an idea on her step. It's certainly not easy, dull or repetitive like most step classes or videos you get.

I have the three of Cathe's kickboxing too. First my favorite was CK. I love the power drills. Now I think my favorite is KPC.The music throughout the workout is really good and fits with the moves.I have the DVD and I usually do the punching and kicking premix. My least favorite is KM. If you want a great kickboxing workout try this: The warm up and the combinations of KPC, the power drills of CK and the blast challenge of KM.

Thanks everyone! Can't wait to try them. My only problem is- the room with the dvd player has a rug...and it is no fun doing any of these workouts on the rug...not so good on the knees. Any advice with what I can do about the rug? Do they sell a sort of mat to place on top of the rug that would make it easier on me? The only other rooms I can move to do not have the space for the workout. Thanks!
