Hi Im new to this forum and I was wondering which videos you recommend? I currently need to lose about 45lbs and started "eating clean" ...I dont have too much experience with weights and I want to do this at home... I have a treadmill, dumbells, step, and barbells....which videos do you think will work for me to incorporate weight training w/ dumbells and barbells into my workouts? thanks.:)

Welcome to the forums!
As you are someone new to weight workouts, I'd suggest starting with Cathe's beginner/intermediate weight workouts (which I can't remember the names of right now).
From there, moving on to Supersets/Push-pull (and using the weights that are appropriate for you...the last two reps of each set should be tough, but doable...never mind what weights Cathe and the crew use.)

I never liked Supersets/Push Pull. I started right off with Pyramid Upper Body and Pyramid Lower Body, and I really liked those. Now I'm a Gym Style Series junkie, though. Whenever I want to strength train, I inevitably put one of those DVD's in.

However, with the release of Butts & Guts, I find myself doing that one more than GS Legs when I want to work lower body. It's just so much fun!

Here's a list of books you might want to look into to help you eat clean and kick-start your weight loss effectively:

1) "Bring Your Triglycerides Down Naturally" by Andrew Mierzejuewski (I LOVED this book! Wow! It's a small, easy read (but watch out for the typos) and is packed with information that helped me shed 7 pounds in less than 3 weeks. Don't let the typos detract you from the content - this is money well-spent)
2) "The Good Carb Cookbook" by Sandra Woodruff (I just keep finding good recipes in this book - delicous salads, sandwiches, you-name-it)
3) "Sugar Busters! Quick & Easy Cookbook" (again, this is just chock-full of great recipes)
4) "The Sugar Solution" by the Editors of Prevention magazine (lots of good data, and some recipes, too)
5) The Candida Directory & Cookbook by Helen Gustafson & Maureen O'Shea (this one is specific to people who suffer from an over-production of Candida and has some good information and recipes in it. It's worth a look even if you don't think you have a candida problem, which is more common than you might think. Anyone who has ever taken antibiotics should do a candida cleanse).

It's called Total Body Strength. There are three workouts -- Total Body [about 30 minutes], Upper Body [20 mins], Lower Body [20 mins].

I am not all that new to strength training, and these workouts still challenge me. Of course, I am craving some new strength training dvds, but that is more about my Cathe addiction than anything else.
