HI EVERYONE,
I'M NEW TO CATHe'S EXERCISE PROGRAM, WELL NEW BECAUSE I HAVE ONLY TRIED ONE OF HER MANY VIDEOS, THE "ALL STEP" VIDEO THAT CAME ALONG WITH MY STEPPER. I HAVE ENJOYED THE WORK OUT BUT I FELT I NEEDED MORE, SOMETHING A BIT MORE CHALLENGING. I JUST PURCHSED THE INTENSITY SERIES, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED!
HERE IS A QUESTION FOR ANYONE WHO IS WILLING TO HELP ME WITH.
HOW DOES THE INTENSITY SERIES WORK? A DIFFERENT VIDEO A DAY, OR ONE VIDEO PER WEEK, OR IS THERE NOT A SPECIFIC STRATEGY TO GET THE BEST RESULTS? I REALLY, REALLY NEED TO GET BACK IN SHAPE, SO I NEED ALL THE TIPS I CAN GET. I'M DETERMINED TO LOSE WEIGHT THE RIGHT WAY NOW, I USED TO BE A DIET PILL JUNKY, BUT HAVE REALIZED AFTER A WHILE THAT THE ONLY HEALTHY WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT IS TO EXERCISE AND EAT HEALTHY.
HOPE TO HEAR FROM YALL SOON.
TAKE CARE

JOEJOE:)

Hi, Joejoe! Welcome!

The Intensity Series isn't really set up to use as a rotation, but as Angela posted, there have been some rotations set up for it. You can find more by going to the 'video rotations" forum, then using the "search" capability (upper left-hand corner), choosing "advanced search" and in the "rotations" forum, looking for the keywords "Intensity rotation" in the "title only" part of the post (otherwise, you can end up with many, many responses, most of which won't give you what you want).

I just use the IS whenever I feel like it. Just make sure when you set up a rotation (or follow a rotation) that you allow a day of rest between weight work for the same body parts. For example, if you do PUB one day, the next day, avoid any weight work for the upper body. This gives the muscles time to repair and get stronger.

(You might want to consider turning off your cap locks, as it MAKES IT LOOK LIKE YOU'RE YELLING, and is hard to read.;-), at least for my aging eyes!)

The rotations I posted were posted by Cathe when the Itensity series came out. How is it that the I-series isn't set up for a rotation?

Cathe comes up with rotations after the workouts are made, not before, like P90X did. You'll also notice that her rotations sometimes have weight work for the same muscle group 2 days in a row (Cardio and weights before or after one of the pyramids or ME; Cathe has explained that you should go light with the weights on one of these days, but that precludes doing the workouts as they are made). And it's necessary to add in other workouts (ie: a low-intensity cardio of your choice)in some of the rotations. This suggests to me that the "series" wasn't really thought out beforehand as a rotation, "as-is," but rather that the rotations were thought up afterwards. So , IS can be used as a rotation (with varying success, IMO), but it was not thought out as a rotation.

HI JoeJoe, You'll have fun with this one. Imax 2 is a big-time favorite around here. by the way, did you purchase these on DVD or video? If they are on DVD, you have endless possibilities. Take it from someone that ended up having to replace half he Cathe videos with DVDs.

As far as the rotation GiGI gave you, that is a very good start. If you can, try to add in your Allstep cardio after one of these strength to really burn some calories. Good luck!:)

WOW!
Thank you all for the great information.I can't wait to receive my videos. For now I guess I will continue with my All Step Video and jogging.

Hi,
I purchased the videos, was that a bad idea?
I work out in my garage so I only have a crapy TV (that I need to replace) and a VCR, no DVD, it's in the Living Room.

No, not a bad idea, but the DVDs give even more workout possibilities! Anyway, work with what you got & I can tell you, you'll get some good workouts!
