New to cathe!

I am new to Cathe. I have recently been doing Jari Love, which I love. But, I would like to mix it up and have a few more videos in my rotation for muscle toning. I do cardio 4 days a week and do a video two days. I would like a full body workout. I was thinking of buying the muscle max since I can do UP and LB on the same day... I only have about an hour a day to workout. I am a single mom with limited time in my day. I was looking into the pyramids but it looks like you have to buy alot of equipment for that one (bar, high step, stability ball)....I do own a step and dumbbells already...Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! :p

I like the Pyramids. Do you get FitTV? You could check out some of the workouts to see which suited you better. I have all the equipment now, but I did the Pyramids with just a step and my dumbbells before I did. I didn't do the stability ball segments, but a ball isn't too expensive.

Muscle Max in my opinion would be perfect for you. It is 68 minutes, but you can skip the abs at the end if you get those in on other days. It's a great full body weight workout. There is a also a time saver pre-mix option, that is around 56 minutes long.

I just did MM this morning. And you can sub the barbell exercises with dumbbells if you don't have a barbell.

Oh and you do need one of those stretchy bands. You can pick one up for about $12 at any sporting goods store.

I LOVE MM, but you might also want to consider the Supersets/Push Pull DVD as well. It's excellent as produced but what I really love are the premixes! There are so many -- it's truly one of Cathe's most versatile DVD's. As for the equipment -- you can easily modify around it, but I would try to get pieces as you can afford them. The ball isn't necessary but it's one of the best tools for strengthening your core. And you don't need a barbell, but again, it's good to add variety to your lifting pattern. Most barbell exercises can be modified for dumbells.

I love Power Hour, too, which is Cathe's version of Body Pump.

I love ALL of Cathe's strength training DVD's and you really can't go wron with any of them. :D ;)

Thanks so much for all of the suggestions!! Cathe has SO many videos, I didn't know where to start! THe suggestions really helped!!!! I think i'm going to get three of them ( POwer hour, supersets, and muscle max). One last question, what weight barbell would you suggest?

One last question, what weight barbell would you suggest?

I bought a 55lb weight set, the bar is only 4/5 feet long or so and weighs 4 pounds, I really like this set, but the shipping was only $10 when I bought it.

I've heard you can get good prices on barbell sets at Walmart, they also sell just the bar and then you can just buy the amount of plates you think you will need.
