Hi all,
I hope I'm posting in the right forum...
I recently converted to Cathe from the Firm. I'd love some advice on which DVD's to buy first. I don't just want to do step, I need strength training too.
Thanks for the help!
Calee

Hi Calee,

Welcome to Catheland! My first Cathe DVD was Boot Camp. It's a killer workout but it's fun and goes by so fast. There are eight fitness cycles that involve cardio, upper and lower body strength work and core work. I also love High Step Challenge and Kick, Punch and Crunch. My favorite strength training DVDs are the Gym Style Series and the Slow and Heavy series. I have seen significant definition in my upper body when I include these DVDs in my rotation. I did Gym Style Legs last night and my legs are screaming this morning.

Cathe has a great website that allows you to view her workouts and eveyone on the forum has knowledge to help you make the right choice.

Welcome Calee. Check the forums, Cathe has posted a rotation for those that are new to Cathe. It consists of basic step/body fusion and low impact step. Two great DVD's to start with. I started there and just graduated to Cardio and Weights and have seen a great change in my shoulders, arms, and hip/thigh area. I also have Kick Punch Crunch - great cardio routine with no step involved.

I personally think no matter which DVD you start with you cant go wrong.

Thank you guys!
I'm so excited to work out with Cathe and really appreciate your advice, I know I'll achieve more results than I did using the Firm.
Thanks again, Calee

Hi Calee!

I am also new to CatheLand. I am also a Firm transfer as well. I started with Cathe's LowMax as my first tape. Love it, but it took me about 3 weeks to just finish the tape the entire way through! I was even using the step without risers!

I just expanded to the Pyramid Upper/Lower for weights. I truly enjoyed the pain of the Upper body tonight.

I hope that you find something that fits for you!

Hi Calee, I'm also new to Cathe work outs. I'm still using the Firm work outs but I want to change things up a bit.

Hi Calee, I'm kind of new also. Not really new to Cathe, I used to use her videos in the early 90's to supplement the Firm (for more cardio). I kind of got away from Cathe videos when I started running for my cardio. I continued with the Firms and Fitprimes and still do to today but just kind of rediscovered Cathe after watching the Fit TV channel. I was sooo excited to see alot of her workouts were now about cardio AND weights (and at an advanced level). After ordering a bunch of DVD's I have to say I'm incredibly impressed with the results I've been getting with Cathe. My absolute favorite right now is Boot Camp :)

Welcome, Calee!

LOL....How much money do you have?;)

When I decided to move up from the Firm I just went with the whole Body Blast series, and found it to be a challenging but doable transition. I went with that because Cathe has a rotation for just that series, and I wanted to see what kind of results I could achieve with Cathe. Here is a link:

I do love that series, it gave my body a nice shock but the Intensity series is now my favorite.

You really can't go wrong with any strength training workouts here, but I will say that Push Pull and Supersets were great for me to start out with, having never done anything other than Firming before. They do use a stability ball. Muscle Endurance is easy to follow, and currently is my favorite weight/endurance workout. The Pyramids are also easy to follow, and give great results. I like these for when I want to split upper and lower body between cardio and interval days.

Well, this is probably more confusing than helpful....again, welcome!

Hi Julie,

Thanks for more advice, you weren't kidding about how much money I had to spend on DVDs were you!? I am having SUCH a hard time trying to choose and pick out what I'm going to buy next!
Thanks for the link on the Body Blast series, it would be nice to have a whole rotation using only that series...
Wish me luck!
