new to cathe

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON Nov-30-02 AT 05:59PM (Est)[/font][p]I have just purchased my first two Cathe tapes after using the Firm since about 1987 and Fitprime since its inception (I have been feeling a little "video-restless" since Goodtimes took over the Firm). What I would like is a recommendation on what (and where) step to buy since Cathe's use a different piece of equipment from the Firm's short and tall box. Any and all advice anyone can offer would be most appreciated. I am also wondering if anyone else has gone from the Firm to Cathe and what their experience has been-what are the differences you have noticed.

Hi Lainey!

I went from the Firm to Cathe. The Firm Vols 1-3 were the most effective for me. I found Cathe's workouts to be a quantum leap because she doesn't do everything in one workout. So you'll be doing each individual exercise for a longer time.

You can get The Step from Spri products (www.spriproducts.com) or if you are near a Wal-Mart they now carry the Step. It is made by the Step Company. Cheaper at Wal-Mart because you don't have to pay for shipping!

I got my step second-hand for 5 dollars right near my house. Someone was advertising it on Craig's list (www.craigslist.com) and someone at Videofitness saw the ad and wrote a post, I read it, and voila, got a perfectly new step for five dolla.

I really appreciate how the Firm workouts got me in shape to do Cathe. I know what you mean about the GoodTimes politics. It made me dislike the Firm even though the workouts are still good (My Vols 1,2, and 3 did not change! LOL) The most important thing I noticed was that with the Firm I was working out 3 days a week. With Cathe I started to work out 5 days a week. The Firm gave me a little of everything. Cathe gives me a lot of everything, and believe it or not, more variety.

I'm a former FIRMIE as well, crosssed over here after reading about Cathe at the Firm Forum and haven't looked back since last year! A year after Cathe I have dropped 10 lbs and feel much stronger. Cathe has increased my cardio endurance so much and has improved my lower body a lot. Right now my project is arms and fat loss. When I do Vol. 1 or TT they seem so much more easier now. That floor work is a breeze!
With Cathe the sets are equal and the body parts are worked in a way that makes sense. The DVDs are chaptered so well, why buy anything else? It looks like the new ones are going to be even better too! She spoils us.
No hype, just tough workouts. Glad to see you here!
