New to Cathe Videos

I have recently purchased MIS. I am now interested in purchasing some of Cathe's step tapes. I am an advanced stepper but I don't like a lot of dance moves in my step routines. Which tapes should I avoid?

Suggestions

Although Cathe's tapes do have advanced choreography, they are not as "dancy" as some other advanced instructors.

The tapes that have more basic/athletic style movements are Step Max, MIC, and Interval Max. All three are TOUGH workouts!

The most complex choreography is probably Step Fit and Step Works. These are both awesome workouts, so if you try the others and find that you could tolerate a little more choreography, you might give them a try.

I am no choreography queen, but I have managed to master all of Cathe's "dancier" tapes. I was scared to try them at first, but once I did, I was hooked!

Good Luck, let us know what you decide!

Dancy moves

Hi and welcome! I guess I am going to have to let the others chime in and help you because sometimes what I consider to be less dancy, others still find too dancy. I tend to think that even though many of my moves may be tricky, they are more athletic and tricky rather than dancy tricky. I generally tend to save the more dancy stuff for the cool downs. However, I still do incorporate a mambo, cha cha, or pivot in the body of the routine here and there. Ok, as I said above , I'll think it will be best if I let other fitness enthusiasts offer their opinions. Thanks for posting! Good luck!

I can handle that!

Thanks for the heads up! I can handle dancy cool downs, pivots, mambos and tricky athletic moves. I just try to stay away from the "jazzercise" type of routines. Now choosing a tape is going to be hard since I have too many good ones to choose from! Take care!

tapes

I am a total klutz so I can relate to this question!!
My absolute favorite Cathe tape is Interval Max, it's not hard to learn at all and it will kick your butt every time.
Powermax is probably my 2d favorite, but I have to say that it was not easy for me to get the hang of it-- it took about 3 or 4 times.
The tapes all take a while to learn, and I find most of them to be pretty complicated, truth be told, but they are well worth the effort. You won't get bored.

a suggestion . . .

. . .from someone who also was intimidated to try a Cathe tape! I started out with Step Jam. The moves were more complicated than anything I had ever done before, but it only took me two times to get most of the routine down & it was such a kick I couldn't believe cardio could be so much fun!

I have Mega Step Blast, the Wedding Tape, Step Heat & Step Jam. Once I got Step Jam down, the other three were very easy to catch on to.

Also, you might check your local library -- that's when I first checked out Step Jam. (Yesterday I checked out PowerMax and am looking forward to trying out this kick butt workout!)

Whatever tape you choose, you'll have a blast working out with Cathe!
