new personal best whoohoo

Today I had a 6K tempo run scheduled. As I passed the 3K mark I noticed I was well below my usual time at that point. So I started thinking I may go for a personal best on the 5K instead. So this little voice in my head tells me to wait and see what happens at the 4K mark. By then I was still well ahead of what I usually run so I really started debating with myself: shall I try for a PB? Ofcourse not, you'll never make it... Why not it's only another 1000 meters... yeah, and what about that uphill run at the end, you'll never do it.... stop thinking negative thoughts.. positive positive.. I can do it... and I did! I ran 5K in 30:04min whoohoo. I'm so close to the very much coveted sub 30min now!! I shaved off 2:24 of my previous PB.

I am so happy happy happy:+

This is such a great w/o week for me!

WHOO HOOO!!!! Way to go, Dutchie! That's gotta feel great.

I remember 3 years ago I ran a 5K race that I do every year, and was disappointed with my time and then the next year I ran it and shaved 2:15 minutes off the previous year's time. There's NOTHING like that high!

Congrats!:)

Bravo, Dutchie! That's excellent! I have a lot of respect and admiration for people who run.

You should be happy, happy, happy, Dutchie! That's a lot of time taken off your PB too. Congratulations!

Dutchie,
That's great!! Congratulations and thanks for sharing. I'm struggling with my running this week for some unknown reason, and you inspire me to keep on truckin'

Late congratulations, Dutchie! Your subject line caught my eye. But as Cathe says, "They're all your best!"

Thank you ladies, I'm still very much smiling when I think back :) And I usually don't talk to my friends about my w/o (they're not interested) but I just had to tell the world :) and told/emailed everybody.

Congrats, Dutchie! I know it is a great feeling! Last year, I took a few months off from running and when I started again, I somehow shaved 7 minutes off my 10K time! I don't know how it happened since I hadn't run in months but I'm guessing Cathe videos probably had something to do with it. Congrats again!
