I want to bother nobody but I have decided to start a daily thread again because it is to much difficult to write answers individually with all those posts. Today I have done my workout of the august rotation : PUB the part with the stability ball and the cardio and arm drills of kickbox in the ctx series dvd.I will stay posting here and in the monthly thread.Have a great day and enjoy your workout.Laurie or endorphin junkie I have read you are waiting for your body blast series in dvd. You are going to love the dvd and the premixes. Have a great day everybody. :) The count down of the hardcore series has started.

Good morning Mariángeles, I think this daily thread might be better!

Wow...Laurie, I think that massage I got last night knocked this cold right out of me! Or maybe the Airborne helped. (much better when I put it in water)....:D

I'm doing P90X Back & Biceps, ABRipperX and a 4 or 5 mile run. Right now it is pouring down rain like crazy. I'll wait til the last ppossible moment to run...:)...enjoy the day ladies....Carole

I just posted in the Monthly thread, but will post here also.

I did Leaner Legs last night and Kathy Smith's Peak Fat Burning.

Will be doing 10-10-10 tonight

Take Care,
Laurie Mac

Hi everyone!

Mariangeles.....great workout! I'm very glad you started this thread as well, it is sooo much easier to respond individually in this format. I'll probably post on both as well.

Carole...so glad you feel better:D Isn't getting a massage the best??A former co-worker who is now a very good friend is my massage therapist and I think she was born to do this, she has got such magical healing hands! I haven't been to see her for one in a while and I really should go soon before I turn into a hunchback, my shoulders and back are that tight!! LOL:D! I give gift certificates for her services and people really enjoy it. Oh by the way you made me laugh so much with your "Airborne incident"....so glad it was much better the 2nd time around:p :) !

Laurie....I still have that Kathy Smith workout in my old VHS collection! I should take it out and do it on an easy day...I'd like to see how far I've really come since then!!

Have a great day everyone!

Wednesday check in

Good Morning: I agree with Mariangeles and prefer to have a daily check in. We do like to chat a little with each other and I think it's easier if we go as we had been, day by day.

This morning I did SB and just keep enjoying this workout more and more. I put a lovely burgandy rinse in my hair this week and subsequently my exercise area looked a bit like a crime scene from the flying red perspiration. Thank goodness it didn't stain anything!
I am teaching a Flowing yoga class at lunch and am dreading my forward folds as my hamstrings are singing quite loudly to me today. The stretching should feel devine!

Carole, that's terrific that you feel so much better after your massage. Moving all of that lymph fluid around must have given you a boost!! I just read your post re 'Silent Lucidity' and am wracking my brain to remember it. I just got some new music for my classes and there is a beautiful Annie Lennox song from "Lord of the Rings" called "Into the West" that pulled at my heartstrings.

Gotta get ready for my class, enjoy your workouts everyone!

Take Care
Laurie:)

Good morning,

This morning I did Bootcamp. Short and sweet workout. I consider BC and HSTA to be my progress reports. They don't seem to do anything long enough or intense enough to actually increase strength, endurance, or cardio levels. Rather, they seem to be the workouts that let me see how far I've come; how high can I jump now, how does it feel to do 16 airborn jacks, etc. It's kind of like all my other workouts give me the necessary skills to be able to do BC and HSTA with good form. And they're fun! I really enjoy these workouts, because you don't do anything long enough to get bored with it, and they just plum make me feel strong and fit.

Mariángeles, thank you for starting this daily thread again. I prefer it. I suppose we could always keep both threads going, and people can just use whichever they prefer.

Lisa, I live in Edmonton, Alberta. It's a lovely city, and I really like it hear despite my whining about the cold :) You won't hear me whining about the river valley, close proximity to the Rocky Mountains, or front-row seats to the Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis.

Katie, I'm happy to hear that your energy levels are good again. Yes, getting enough food can make a big difference, can't it? Maybe you need to look at your couple of days between holiday eating as days of respite between all those extra calories? Sure, you're going to be eating more on the weekend, but you don't need to compound those calories by eating extra during the week. As well as adding to your physical weight (or sabatoguing your weight-loss efforts), you're adding to the feelings of guilt you will be experiencing after the holidays. It is not a waste of time or effort to eat clean and healthy for the few days between holiday meals. Instead of trying to actually lose weight over these next few weeks, why not focus on "damage control", whereby you simply eat the very best you can between all the high-cal meals, so that come January, you will not have so much guilt to shoulder? Don't think of your waistline, think of your mental health. January is going to get here in 3 weeks, no matter what; right *now* is the time to start doing something about those holiday pounds, simply by taking preventative measures to ensure that they don't add up to more than they have to. Personally I find that holiday binging is the most unrewarding and self-destructive thing I ever did. Absolutely nothing good ever came of it, except it heightened my sweet tooth, made me fat, and left me feeling terrible when the holiday season was over. No, thanks.

Jes, I'm glad you enjoyed ME so much!!! That was a tough workout you did yesterday! How did you do the barbell work in these workouts? Or have you already purchased one? And what did you use for the leg presses? BC grows on you, I think. When I first got the IS, I rarely did this workout. I just couldn't figure out what to do with it, or where to put it in my rotations. I think BC is used to the greatest effect within the Terminator workouts. Just wait - we'll have you ordering those next week! LOL!

Laurie, let me know when you get your IS, and we'll set up a date!! I would love a challenge. That would be a hoot! I did PLB on Monday, and didn't think I'd "felt it" until I woke up this morning. Ooooooh, my legs and lower back were tight. And my inner thighs. That stability ball work is just plain sadistic. I obviously need to do it more often :)

Carole, enjoy your wet run! Bring along one of those small hotel shampoo packets and wash as you go. Save yourself all that shower time after your run :)

Laurie Mac, sounds like a good workout! So you're going to keep the Kathy Smith, huh? I have two of her step workouts, but haven't used them in a super long time. I do remember that when I started back with stepping I really liked the level of these workouts; the bun and thigh workout really felt tough at the time. I keep them around "just in case" I ever lose my current level of conditioning and need to start over again. I don't know if I ever actually would, though, now that Cathe has the BB series and her beginner/intermediate workouts. Anyhoo, I'm just thinking out loud here, so I'll call it a day.

Have a good day, everyone!

LOL!!! That is hilarious.

Ooooh, I would love to take that class! I have a YogaFlows book that I've used to create a daily routine, for the afternoon when I need a pick-me-up. I love the flowing yoga better than the static holding sort. I imagine your hamstrings will thank you very much for stretching them so well, after all you've put them through the past few days :)

Cheers,
Sandra

Morning all! I did Boot Camp as well this morning and I must say how proud I am of myself because after I was finished with all the Terminators I said to myself "Hey, that wasn't so bad". So I have to think I'm making definite progress. However I must ask, am I the only one who dreads doing Boot Camp? I know a lot of you love this workout, but I find myself dreading the days I have it in my rotation. I think it's just because it gives me such a good kick in the butt and at 5:00 in the morning that doesn't seem too appealing. BUT I always get my butt up and do it anyway. I guess my goal is to get to the point where I look forward to doing it.

Sandra - I have to agree with you. I have a terrible habit of letting one or two bad days of eating spin me into a whirlwind of binge eating thinking "Oh the damage is already done". I promised myself I wouldn't do that this time. I am planning to eat as clean as possible on the days where there is not some kind of "event" going on. As you had mentioned, I decided yesterday to try not to focus so much on losing weight for the next couple weeks, but to just maintain where I am now. Then I can pick back up with the weight loss where I left off after the Holidays. If I happen to still lose some weight over the next couple weeks then that will just be an added bonus. Thanks for the advice and for the pep talk. I'm ready to get back on track.

Hope everyone has a great day!!! Sorry for being so long winded today.:7

Katie

Good morning all!

Katie, just getting your butt up is the important thing. much harder that people think. You are doing great!

Sandra: i did not get a barbell yet. i just used different dumbells. i am getting one next week though.}( dh says cathe should have stock options. he is cute and has been a real trooper.

Mariangles: thank you for going back to this thread. much easier. i am just going to post here.

Since i am kinda sore from yesterday (not as bad as i thought it would be) i am going to do cardio only Allstep. but, sandra, in case you were wondering, it will be muted with my own music thank you very much :*

my stetching is going to be sitting on the floor wrapping presents. you have to bend and reach and all that good stuff. ;-)

have a good day ladies!

jes:)

Hi again.Thank you for your warm words about start this daily thread.

Carole I love to exercise when is raining outside. Lot of people uses the power 90 X. Is it really better than Cathe? I have read that the weight training in Power 90 X is better. What do yo think? .

Laurie Mac 10,10,10 with the kickbox and ower circuit are my fvorites workouts of the ctx.I will stay posting in the monthly thread too.

Sandy I have envy. Have a friend massage therapist is what my legs need after the first week of the august rotation.

Laurie SB in VHS is great. Wait to the SB/SJP dvd with the premixes.

Sandra I only have done the yoga with Jane Fonda. I can't wait to have the stretch max dvd.

Katie you must be proud. The terminators are killers.I hope someday will be able to do the pikes with the stability ball. Good work.

Jes all step still being a challenge. It is difficult.

Have a great day everybody.

Hi!

Posted earlier but forgot to post my actual workout...oops:+!! Tonight is my advanced step class followed by a few segments of BC core...all this talk of BC is making me do it!!

Sandra...that is such a great workout, isn't it??? BC is a lot of fun!! Oh I would love to visit your area one day....I hear the scenery there just melts your heart:)

Katie...much as I love BC there are days where I dread it too...it's just the thought of those squat thrust climbers, airborne jacks, sumo squats that sometimes makes me tremble...LOL!!

Laurie, that incident with the crime scene after effects really cracked me up.....guess next time you'll know not to put a rinse in just before a Cathe workout:p :D !! Oh wish I could have taken your yoga class, I could really use it! Into the West is really such a beautiful song, I love it:)

Jes, have fun with your "stretching" routine later...LOL!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm glad the daily thread is brought back. I haven't been on here much for the past few days and when I came back it was gone:( I miss knowing what all of you have been doing on a daily basis. Yippee-my friends are back. But Hey, you don't know until you try.

Laurie - You will LOVE the body blast DVD's. I just ordered the Intensity series on DVD-I have it on VHS but I really wanted the premixes.

Carole - Have a great workout-it sure sounds tough.

Laurie Mac-it's odd you mention Kathy Smith's Peak Fat Burning. I was just thinking I should go back and do some oldies but goodies and I do like that workout-the guy in the background reminds me of myself---not too coordinated.;)

Laurie- I was just about rolling on the floor with your crime scene comment- that is hilarious! I was having disturbing visuals;)

Sandra, I did Bootcamp this morning too. I hadn't done it in a while and the cardio was kicking my butt-especially those terminator climbers!

Oh my gosh I have to get back to work--I hope to check in later, Wendy

Oooooh the daily thread is back!! Whoo hoo!!:7

I did Shoulders today using PUB and PS, then instead of doing standing legs, I did only floorwork legs and boy do I feel it in the hamstrings. I did PLB floorwork only and then did PSSL&A floorwork and abs. 67 min. total so I am fried. My chest still hurts from Monday,UGH!!!:( :+ :7 Just didn't feel like doing standing legs and usually with this rotation the floorwork legs get left out anyway so this was a nice change of pace.

Have a great day!!:7

Sandra...sounds beautiful. I have never been to Canada but I have heard it is wonderful.

Today: CTX series shoulders with cardio & abs

You guys have a great day
:)

Hello again,

I just finished with 10-10-10. Will probably be doing Power Circuit tomorrow. Still haven't decided.

Mariángeles I like 10-10-10 also, just wish I had a little more room in my workout space. I have to remember to not have the step in place until after the kickbox. That will give me more space and not trip on the step.

Sandra I have BB Series and HSTA on my wish list. Hope to get them soon. I really like kickboxing and want to do KPC. Everyone raves about it.

Wendy - When I was doing the Kathy video, the gentleman in question made me trip once. Too bad the camera had to pick that moment. I was previewing the video before I attempted it again (because I had forgotten some of the moves). My youngest DD was in the room and asked me "who is that" I told her Kathy Smith. She says "she looks different". I realized she thought I meant Cathe.:)

Have a great night everyone
Laurie Mac
