Hi everyone,

I'd like to start a new Check-In Group for Ontario Catheites - who's in? No restrictions, except that you have to live in, be from or have visited Ontario. Whatdja think?
 
I hear ya! I'm awaiting STS and CLX! Can't wait for both - my muscles just aren't cryin' enough from Slow and Heavy I guess!
 
I'm in! I live in the GTA as well. I was so close to ordering CLX last night but i'm glad i held off since reading about all their customer service issues.
 
Wednesday WO Woes!

Okay guys, this morning was Slow and Heavy Legs and Shoulders. I wore my 40lb vest again, and my back is a bit tired now. I think I have to get better at picking up the BB with the vest on; the BB is currently set at 55lb and I think I strain my back a little getting it up off the floor.

I was planning on doing this workout last night, but had a bout of reactive hypoglycaemia (blood sugar crashes a while after eating), so felt really awful and wiped out. Didn't even feel like I had the energy to eat, if you can believe it! I tried to get myself going, I watched some P90X videos, but it just wasn't in me and I went to bed at 8:00pm. I had worked out the previous 5 days, and I walk about 45-50 minutes each weekday to and from work, but I am still kicking myself nonetheless. I used to work out 4 hours a day, every day, so even though I work out differently and harder now, I still think I'm being lazy if I'm working out less than three hours, let alone not working out at all! I know rest is important, at least, my brain knows it, but my emotions are taking a while to catch up. I put a post-it note on my clock this morning, giving myself a little pep talk to get our of bed and do my workout, but I had so much sleep last night that I actually woke up early at 3:30 and did my workout no problem. Maybe my body needed the rest anyway.

Tomorrow is another morning workout, and I'll be doing SH Chest and Back. I really like working chest, especially on SH, as there are so few push ups! However, I think I'd better keep that pep note on my clock as I have an evening appointment on Thursday and won't be able to make up the workout if I miss it!

Hopefully my CLX will come soon and I will start focusing on getting lean rather than being built like a brick ****house!

Thanks for the invite, I saw my notification just now.

Wow, a 3 am work out :eek:, I could never do that I'm barely breathing let alone
using my brain at that time in the morning.
Morningstar is a great name for some one who can do that;)

I have Cathe's 10 lb vest got it for Christmas so far I've used it for Butts &
Gutts, Legs and glutes, and Low impact step.

My highlight of the day was talking to Cathe on line today :D:D:D:D
And then I went and did Circuit Max, can't wait for my STS to come it'll be so
awesome. I've been doing PS and GS lately.

I'm in thanks to Elle for giving me a heads up on this! Sounds exciting! It's wonderful to know and share with local Catheites!!:D And thanks Morningstar for starting this up. Oh, and just to let you know that along with Elle I subscribe to your funny blog!! Hi everyone!! I live in Toronto and can't wait for STS!! I just got my shipping notice today!! :eek: However, I may have to delay my start to it as I just strained my lower back yesterday. I think I was over eager on starting back after a cold. :confused: So now it's ice, ice and more ice. But I may do a little step on Friday if it behaves itself.

Morningstar: Be careful let your back get used to it, you don't want to end up like me. :p I'm completely there with the hypoglycemia, I've been so wiped from it that it was hard to get up to eat too, though I knew I absolutely had to! That's ALOT of workouts that you do!! You might want to try and schedule rest days into your rotation so you don't crash.

So i was really debating skipping my workout tonight and just going to bed at 9pm. I then read morningstar's post. 3-4hr workouts everyday? waking up at 3:30am? That was all the motivation i needed to do Slim & Lean. I guess that's what check-ins are for!;)

Ah, Slim and Lean -one of my favourites!

Twinkle - you got your shipping notice? How jealous am I! I know I'm not starting STS for a while, but I ... just.... want...it! I do schedule rest days, but more often just take them when I need them as opposed to planning them. I only get my "cardio" (in quotations because I don't really consider it cardio) from walking, even though I do a lot of it, so most of my workouts are lifting; I don't lift the same body part two days in a row, and if I am doing a fully body rotation I do something like yoga or abs in between lifting days.

I covet new workouts and now that Elle has told me about Muscle Endurance not having cardio, I want that one too! So few body parts, so little time to recover from the brutality of the workouts...

Bubachick, how low impact is Low Impact step? And does it require lots of room to move around the step? I have both knee and space issues. I like PS for a lighter workout, and love GS. Can you tell me about Circuit Max?
 
Man, I feel like I'm sitting on my biceps here at work! The leg workout yesterday, combined with extra hamstring curls (love 'em!), the long walks in the snow yesterday, the deadlifts in the workout this morning and the walk to work today, makes my hamstrings jumpy as all heck. So tender, and the chair is not as soft as I thought it was two days ago!

My back is feeling alot better except for some twinges in the evening, cross my fingers. I've been icing my back and my knees (I have knee problems too wouldn'tcha know it!) and I can tell you it makes such a difference, like it's miracle medicine!! I just got my STS today and I'm SOOOOOO excited!:D I've just been doing my 1RM. Hope to do a bit more on the weekend. I'd like to try and do all of Disk 1's 1 rep max as that covers so many other disks in that category. I haven't even opened my UPS package yet!! :p Have you guys checked out the new Workout Manager? It's awesome and makes doing the 1RM so easy as you now have a visual and you can print out an 8 page 1RM chart too.

Morningstar: I know, I want it all too!!!:p I've got CLX and P90X and I've not done either one yet except maybe YogaX from P90X which is awesome I must say! You might want to check out the video samples for Low Impact Step and also take a look at LowMax (gives you a nice leg burn!). I don't think you need alot of room for these and they are quite low impact, same with Low Impact Circuit. For both LowMax and Low Impact Circuit your feet will always stay grounded. Check the 10 minute video samples out on ShopCathe's website and also the shorter clips at www.collagevideo.com.

Elle, I was debating ordering CLX as well but am glad I held off with all of the issues, plus STS arrives soon (hopefully).

Hi everyone,
Today was my yoga day and I just finished my practice.

Morningstar: I also recommend LoMax. It is a Step workout with "Leg Blasts". There are 7 step combos/blasts. You can check out the clips right here at Cathe's store as the clips are longer than at the collage site. The first time i tried it i thought the coreography was complicated (it would probably help if i watched it first) but i managed to get the hang of it after the second time i did it. I don't have LIS so i can't offer any advice on that one.

Twinkletoes: I'm happy you received your STS. I am looking forward to hearing about your progress with it. Glad to hear your back feels better.

I hope the rest of you get your STS deliveries soon.

Morningstar hi - It was Body Fusion I did with the vest. It's mostly low impact the 2nd two combo have a couple of moves higher impact but I just didn't jump.;) Low Impact step only requires enough room to walk around the step, and walk back and kick. They are both more basic, but Fun, some days you just don't want to do fancy stuff ;). Plus they have other work outs on them too. Circuit Max has 6 cycles of cardio and upper body weights combined with a lower body exercise. 2 ho/low, 2 kick box (one on the step), 2 all step. HTH

I meant to work out this morning, but didn't, and then I had a very brutal day - just really really bad. I really didn't think I would be able to work out tonight, because when I feel bad emotionally I often can't work out, but I did my SH Bikes and Trikes (Biceps and Triceps!) after work, just kept the weights slightly lighter. Just "did it anyway"! I am going to Gym Styles now for the next three workouts, and then to Pure Strength and then to PUB and PLB. Hoping that after that CLX will be here. I just needed the break from the intensity of SH.

I started trying Creatine today. I am concerned that my switch to CLX will lose me some muscle, and I am hoping that the Creatine will help me maintain what I've got. I'll let you guys know if I have any interesting results from it, but I'm only on a half dose, so I don't expect anything dramatic to happen. I just want to maintain at this point.

I'm hoping that CLX and P90X install a love of cardio in me that does not currently exist - and then maybe I'll be ready for Cathe cardio!

Can you believe that last night I dreamt about Cathe coming to the GTA on a road trip and I took a class with her? She was very nice in the dream!
 
Hi Every one checking in late Saturday, well 7:17 :)

I did Leaner Legs the other day, and went heavier 50 lb, I was proud cause
there's a lot of reps. ;) Went to 45 for sit n stands they always get me :eek:
Did add 10lb vest after first set of squats so that's 60lb. (not for sit'n'stands)

Morningstar - S&H takes the steam out of me LOL, can't do it for more than a two week rotation. Nice dream you had I'd wake up pretty happy after one of those.

I did pyramid upper body today, some thing different to shock the muscles I was thinking. Plus when STS arrives it will be all splits so this might be the last while to do an all upper body.

I am just "patiently" waiting for my STS and the rest of my new Cathe DVD's to arrive. I am not sure if they have even shipped yet. Hopefully Monday Customer service will reply to my email from a while ago.
Until then, I will just have to be patient and live vicariously through all of you (lol).

You have a high step coming too, I LOVE my high step :D

I had BC and ME on vhs, only had that choice when it was released.
Bought the dvd version on the RT, love the bonus combo on it, it is tough :eek:.

Did 4ds, double cardio the other day, the pre-mix has low intensity first then high. I do my own version of high intensity step first then the low.
Took my a couple of trys to get some of the moves in combo 2, in higher intensity step, but have it now and it's fun.

Have fun with all your new dvd's, hope we both get our shipments
