New advanced way to exercice

Hello Everyone!

I started 1 month ago to push myself to another level by adding weighted hand gloves (1 lbs) and ankle weights (1 lbs) on Cathe's cardio workouts. I feel an amazing change in my overall form and I lost more fat.

I just thought to share this new advance way to workout. I don't think this would be suitable for newers and/or people with injuries. But if you think you can bump a little more your workouts, this is a nice way to improve your fitness level.

Well that's interesting, so you're stepping with ankle weights? Out of curiousity what cardio are you doing the most?

sounds interesting, never heard of this before. Do you find your HR gets up higher using the weight?

The weighted gloves are fine, but I was always told not to use ankle weight as the added stress on the knees is not good. I always use 1/2 lb weighted gloves for kick boxing
 
I would definitely advise against using ankle weights for cardio or anything but stationary weight work. There's just too much of a risk to the knee and hip joint, even if you don't notice any problems yet. Be safe and add intensity in another way. Even attaching theh ankle weights together and turning them into a weight belt (that's possible with some types of ankle weights) would be safer because of the way the weight would be distributed.
