Need some Boot Camp Love!

Biteset

Cathlete
I'm going to do Boot Camp for the first time tomorrow morning. Feeling a wee bit nervous. It's the only workout in the Intensity Series that I haven't done. Of course, "done" is a relative term--I don't think I've completed Imax 2, and also have had to heavily modify the ab routines in the other workouts.

I want to do the "Body Blast" Intensity Series rotation that Cathe suggested, way back when the I.S. was new. It starts the week with Boot Camp. I won't be able to work out for about a week after tomorrow morning's workout...so I'm hoping to get the Virgin Boot Camp experience over with, recover (for a week), then kick off the Body Blast rotation.

Again--I've never done Boot Camp before! Anyone got a minute to send me some encouragment???

Thanks!

Hello Gisela,

I haven't done this workout a lot, but it is good. I am trying to stick to mainly Intensity Series workouts at the moment and I did the Boot Camp cardio only portion after IMAX2 last week. The cardio segment I had problems with is the military jumps (blast 5 or 6) blast. I have yet to learn to do that.

It's a good workout and if you find it tough the split it up, either do the cardio first then weights or do use it as an add on to another workout e.g. cardio portion in Cardio & Weights and Boot Camp cardio blasts or weights only. Whatever makes it easier for you.

Enjoy.

Gisela - I just saw this! How did it go? Boot Camp is hard but it's so much fun that it goes by quickly. And remember - you can do ANYTHING for a minute;-)

so how did it go? i tried this workout for the first time about a year ago, and it is a tough one! but it also is broken down so that it goes quickly and you get a reprieve each time you feel like you just can't go on, lol.

hope you liked it!

Yeah, that did go by quickly!

Things I couldn't keep up for a full minute: triceps pushups, planks, other ab things (oblique raises?), triceps extensions, and of course the squat thrust climbers. (sigh!)

Oh, and did most pushups on my knees. I *can* do some straight-legged, but sometimes I like to just do them on my knees because my form and range of motion is more consistent.

Good thing I tried HSTA last Saturday--that just about KILLED me! Especially doing two sets of leg presses back to back...

Anyway, compared to HSTA, Boot Camp was tamer and more fun.

Thanks for the love!

Glad you enjoyed it!:) I haven't done this one in a while, but have it in my plans for next week. If I remember correctly, this is the workout where I thought those tricep dips would *never* end.
Overall, it is a fun and different type of workout, perfect for changing things up for me. :)

This was my first Cathe experience! I thought I'd die the first time. Now I just love it. Glad you enjoyed it!
