hello, I am in the need for new shoes that I can do all my Cathe aerobics in and weight train in. Can someone please help. I have high arches so I know I need alot of cushion and support for the ball of my foot. Please help. Thanks!

I wear Ryka Studio Flex Lows for all of Cathe's step/cardio routines. I find they have enough cushion and lateral support, lots of toe room, and they breathe fairly well. (However, everyone's feet are different.)

I go barefoot for almost all weight work because it's just more comfortable for me (my feet can breathe), and I get to strengthen all those little (neglected) foot muscles. Not sure if this is good or bad, but I feel my form doesn't suffer and I'm usually on carpet.

I only keep my Ryka's on if I'm going to be doing one-legged squats/elevated squats or leg presses on the step. Even then, sometimes I just prefer to cover my step with my yoga mat to make it a more comfortable surface for bare feet.

Have you ever looked at Zappos? I haven't gotten sneakers from them, but I get all of my other shoes and my kids shoes there. I just checked and they have a lot of rykas. People usually post pretty good reviews. Also, it is free shipping and free returns. I have never had a problem with them. Melissa

I do lots of bootcamp style workouts, step, kickbox, and Zumba. I just purchased New Balance 871 training shoe and Asics Gel 260 TR. Both feel great. I've had the Asics on for three workouts (one of which was a Zumba class) and they feel great. I just got the New Balance 871 shoe today from Zappos.com. I hope to try them in a Zumba class next week. I also purchased an Airr Gel insert from Sports Authority.

Check out the reviews and videos on Zappos it was very helpful for me. Good luck.

Carmen.

Cathe just posted on FB the other day about how much she loves her Rykas. I've been wearing New Balance brand for YEARS, and I've always loved them. I may give Rykas a try the next time I want to buy workout shoes. I just bought a nice pair of spinning shoes from Zappos. Zappos is AMAZING!! You can place your order in the evening and have your shoes the VERY NEXT DAY! I don't know how they do it! I LOVE Zappos! Good luck w/your selection!

I have high arches so I know I need alot of cushion and support for the ball of my foot.

I have VERY high arches and hammer toes (ewww, I know), and I went through many many stress fractures in my toe box area before I finally found a podiatrist who recommended custom orthotics. I know there is a good amount of debate about orthotics, but my custom orthotics have literally saved me from an endless cycle of injury. I have been injury free since wearing them. knock on wood.

Besides the orthotics, I need shoes with lots of support and a roomy toe box. The best shoes I have found are the ones that Cathe also recommends (and uses in all her new videos)--Ryka Assist XT2s. They fit the bill for me. I like to buy them on Zappos because of the free shipping and easy return policy (not that I have ever returned any of my Rykas). Good luck.
