Need help for dry, chapped lips. :(

I don't think it really matters what kind of balm or moisturizer you use if you don't exfoliate your lips first. Get the dead, dry skin off with a scrub of some sort (I just use St Ive's scrub in the shower every morning) and then whatever you use to add moisture will work!!
YOu can also use a toothbrush or a dry washcloth to exfoliate lips.

Shea butter and coconut oil are good for dry lips, and are non toxic (I'm not sure what's in Aquaphor, but if it's not made for lips, I'd check to see if it's something I'd want to eat, which is basically what you'll be doing with anything you put on your lips).

Both good ideas as well! I would make sure, however, that you use the toothbrush or dry washcloth when your lips are moist (like in the shower). If not... ouch! ;)
Oops!
You're right: I hadn't done this for so long, I'd forgotten (but I checked it out, and it definitely requires a damp washcloth or tootbrush, or putting something on the lips--like jojoba oil or olive oil--before doing). Thanks for catching that!

Another idea (it works, I just did it!) is to mix sugar and oil (jojoba or olive or argan, for example) and use it as a scrub. I've seen 'natural' scrubs that you can buy (and spend quite a bit for) that are just basically these two ingredients. (I had some in my medicine cabinet that I'd made last year, and it was still okay, but the sugar had absorbed the oil and hardened a bit, so I added more jojoba oil).
