Need a new blender...

Does anyone have any suggestions? I boght a pretty high end kitchenaid about a year ago and I was never happy with the ice issue. I want one that totally pulverizes the ice just like a smoothie you get from town. Plus I need it to hold up. Mine is already worn out and I don't really use it that much. Maybe once a day. And most of the time that is not even with ice. (premix shakes for work) So if anyone knows of a good one I am up for anything.

You know I just bought one of those Magic Bullet things, yes, from the infomercial and I love it. I have a fancy, shmancy, cuisinart for the bigger things, but I use my Magic Bullet for my protien shakes which I have at least twice a day. It really crushes ice. I love that it isn't so big my last blender was a pain in the butt to clean. It is super easy to use, and even grinds my coffee beans.

I'll second the vita mixer. I've gone through some blenders in my day. Vita mixers have awesome blending power!

I've had mine for 5 years. I've replaced the blade once.
I bought mine through a company on ebay. They don't have any listed on ebay, but here is there online store
http://www.vittitow.com/vitamix-vita-prep-p-4690.html

It's a commercial version for the same price as the home version. I also bought my replacement parts from this company.

Janie--can you use the Magic Bullet as a regular blender as well as for protein shakes? I'd hate to have to get two appliances for blending.

I love my Vitamix!

It is one of the best investments that I have ever made. I love it. I make smoothies without having to add liquid, sorbets, soups, nut butters, hummus, and I even make my own flour!

Love, love the vita mix. It isn't cheap but wow!, it does it all and has a great warranty. I am going to try the peach icre cream receipe today

Thanks everyone
I am really leaning toward the vita mix.
I really am curious about that whole make your own flour bit. I make alot of home made bread so I can control what is in mine so it would be really cool if I could try to make the flour too..
