Janice,
I'm trying to remember if you said you start nursing school this month? I've been thinking about you! I hope you're feeling ready -- or that things are going well, if you're already underway! Let us know how you're doing. My classes begin again at the end of August, so I'm trying to enjoy every bit of what's left of summer. It has gone very fast!
All good wishes,
Allison

I'M HERE!!! I'M HERE!!!:D :D :D

Nice to "hear" from you guys. I admit, I have been on hiatus from Cathe. No suprise really to some of you I am sure. But......I did start school and am having some massive anxiety that I am dealing with (therapy and meds) but what do you expect in nursing school, right? I have been getting good grades in my classes. Check-offs on skills is extremely nerve racking, but I keep telling myself not just for me...for everyone. I quit my job last Friday and now I am wondering if I did the right thing (no suprise there either, LOL). But, my husband and I are getting to spend more time together which feels absolutely AWESOME! after so much time without ever seeing each other (totally conflicting schedules). I've gotten a call from a local hospital for an interview in an on-call position in admitting, and because it would be minimal hours, I may look into that. If not, there are job fairs here in the near future where I can look for employment more suited to the direction in which I am heading.

So.............it is all a big experiment for me right now! So thrilling yet very scary. But, you are only young once right?? Now is the time...

Exercise-wise, well.........I am trying. Next week I start aerobics at the college, I registered for that and the Fitness Center, hoping that I can "get out there" more. I know I need exercise, now more than ever. I am seeing a therapist and have been put on some medication that so far I am only seeing the side effects of and no real difference. Well, only negative: I am so freaking drowsy!!. But, as some of you know, antidepressants can take time to work so I am hanging on for dear life. So to speak. LOL. Can be a sucky ride though...

Thank you Allison, Clare, Candi, Marla and everyone else for thinking of me. It put a BIG SMILE on my face!! :) I check back here ever so often, but with nursing school now I don't have much time for anything else (atleast until last Friday )

If any of you ever want to talk feel free to email me personally at [email protected]. Because of school, I check that everyday. Allison...best of luck to you in school!! What Block are you in now?

Take care guys, you are the best!!

;-) :7

Janice, it's GREAT to see you here. Best of luck on everything you do. When you're having it rough, just remember that many of us here are rooting for you.:)

Janice,

It appears the therapy and meds are working because you sound more positive than you have in months...even with all the major changes in your life.

Things will work out for the best. You need to know this because you are in control of your destiny now.

:)

Thank you for the kind words Candi and Pinky. You guys have listened to me whine through all of this (over and over and over and..). I appreciate everything..even the "tough love" and hope now that I can come out on the other end of the tunnel.

I hope to be back to my fit self soon. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!:)

Hello!! I'm glad you saw our notes, and glad to hear that you're on your way with school! I really relate to all you had to say. It's a big, big adjustment! I remember those early weeks (just last fall for me) very well, and even though I was very happy to be doing what I'm doing, it was a major transition. But you're doing it! For me, the intensity stayed the same throughout my first two semesters...but the routine became more familiar, and as relationships with my classmates grew, it felt better. It helps a lot to have people who understand what you're going through, to study with (and, yes, gripe with occasionally...).

My semester starts on the 29th, and this fall I'll be doing clinicals in pediatrics/ob and med-surg. Exciting!

You are right -- now is the time!! Feel free to share, any time (you know, in all that free time you have!).
Best wishes,
Allison
