My Summer Vacation

We got home from a week of traveling through Yellowstone National Park with my sister and her DH yesterday. What a wonderful vacation. We spent at a different lodge or cabin every night, had wonderful meals, saw beautiful vistas, walked the boardwalks of numerous, unbelievable geyer basins and saw wildlife in abundance. The list of wildlife includes elk with calves, moose with calves, bison with calves, pronghorn antelope with fawns, black bear with cubs, grizzly bears with yearlings, wolves, bald eagles, ospreys, peregrine falcons, harliquin ducks, and a badger.

What a Wonderland!

I am so jealous that you saw bears!!! I spent days looking for bears there last year! Only bison, more bison and a few elk. Looks like you had a great time!!! :)

Robin,
Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures of your vacation. Looks like you had a wonderful and relaxing time.

Welcome back!
Gin:)

Oh, Robin, thanks for sharing those! It looks like you had a fabulous time, and the four of you look so happy and relaxed!:)

OMG! What a beautiful, wonderful place to be. Thanks so much for posting these Robin, we are glad you are back though!

PS.You are one hot mama by the way, and your DH is one fine arse man too!;)

Liann, did you get to the Lamar Valley when you were there? We saw at least 8 grizzlies and 3 black bear there, as well the Slough Creek pack of wolves. You have to get there in the early morning or evening and watch for groups of people with spotting scopes. My sister wanted me to tell you we stopped at the Davenport Hotel for cocktails at the Peacock Room in Spokane the first night there. Have you ever been there on your trips west? Beautiful place.

Catherine, I had a hard time seeing the first bear we spotted. I was shaking so much, I couldn't see through my binoculars. By the 11th one, they were old hat. Actually, one sow and her yearling were in a clearing, wandering around looking for food. They just kept getting closer and closer to us, till we felt it was time to get into the car and vamoose.

Allison, the selfish part of me is glad you are glad I'm back.

Tneah, I passed your comment on to my DH!

Thanks for posting the pics Robin.
My girls are going to be so excited when they see the pics in the morning!

Haven't been quite that far to the east yet. Thanks for sharing you beautiful pictures and so glad you had a great time.

Nice idea to go to different cabins every nite. I'll keep that one in mind. (Guess it kinda forces you to pack light too, huh?:p )

Wow, Robin, great photos! Thank you!

You know, I spent and entire summer up there during my college years (forever ago!) and only saw one bear - and it was so far away, you could barely tell it was a bear!

I envy you for seeing the wolves! They hadn't been reintroduced yet when I was up there.
