My sister is awesome, you have to read this!!!

My sister, as many of you know, had a baby this past summer. Well, not two months after she had Nathan, she had to go back to school for her final semester of nursing school. Full time clinicals and Capstone. Full time Mom. Well, she worked hard, and it was so hard for her to leave him 4-6 days a week, 12 hours a day, but she stayed the course, kept up in her studies, and amazingly continued to breast feed and be a great mom by making sure she spent time with him everyday. I am so happy to say that she graduated this past Saturday with all A's and one B this past semester!!! She had maintained a GPA of 3.6, and got her pin!!! I am so proud of her, and our whole row was crying as they called her name and she crossed the stage! Nathan's dad held him up in the air for her to see, and it was so amazing!!!

So that was my moment to let my sister shine! She starts working evenings in the NICU January 7 as a REGISTERED NURSE (once she passes the boards) and I couldn't be more happy for her!!!

ETA that she had many sleepless nights with baby, as you many moms can remember, so how much more awesome does that make her for keeping those grades and contuing through and not giving up??? :):):)

That's great, Missy!!! I know how hard nursing school is. I can't imagine going through that grueling schedule with a new baby. I'm sure your sister will make a wonderful nurse!

Michele

Wow Missy, I'd love to shake your sister's hand. I don't think I could've done what she did. She deserves every bit of success that comes her way.

Missy,

That is incredible!! Like Michele said , nursing school can be demanding and difficult! And I know how much work a newborn is.

AWESOME!

Good for her! I can't imagine doing with that. Tell her Congratulations!!

That is so awesome Missy!!!!

I had my son during my last semester of college. I actually took my accounting book to the hospital with me when I was going into labor.

Congrats to your sister! That really takes hard work and dedication.

You are so crazy, woman!!!! Of course, this is from a woman who was doing laundry and finishing cleaning the house less than 2 hours before delivary. I would hate coming home to an unclean house. Can someone say OCD? :p

Missy

That's great! She's a much stronger woman than I. I remember those sleepless nights...I could NOT have done it!

That is awesome.I am a firm beleiver that we can do amazing things when we set our minds to it.
I didn't have it as tough as your sister but I did have to finish highschool with a baby and breastfeed. It comes alot easier when you know there is alittle one that you need to provide for.
