My Oscar Winner Predictions

Best Actor - Jamie Foxx (I give him the edge over Leo, though he was good, this has been Foxx's year, in fact I like his performance in Collateral better than Ray. But both were a neck tuner as this cat can really act.)

Best Actress - Hilary Swank (I thought that Catalina Sandino Moreno gave a compeling performance as a mule from Columbia in Maria, Full of Grace. If you did not see this movie....DO)

Best Supporting Actor - Morgan Freeman (Although I loved Jamie Foxx in Collateral and Clive Owen in Closer. Morgan will get it because with the Academy they do the "it is time he got it now", even though it may not be his strongest performance. Morgan should have gotten it for Driving Miss Daisy or Shawshank Redemption, JMHO)

Best Supporting Actress - Cate Blanchett (She played Kate Hepburn, but I liked Sophie Okenodo in Hotel Rwanda...an EXCELLENT movie)

Best Director - Martin Scorsese (Although this is a true toss up between he and Clint. I will not be surprised if Clint gets this one and the Aviator is picture of the year.)

Cinematography - The Passion of the Christ (Whether you liked this movie or not, the cinematography was breathtaking)

Adapted Screenplay - Before Sunset (I loved Before Sunrise and the words and emotion of this movie was major. Rent both of these movies, true romantic pieces.)

Original Screenplay - The Aviator (I will not be surprised if Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind get this one)

Aniamated - The Incredibles

Song - Don't care because I heard none of these

Documentary - Super Size Me (Everyone should see this movie, it will make you think before putting ANY fast food in your mouth, period)

Picture - The Aviator (If Clint gets Director, if Scorsese gets Director don't be surprised at Million Dollar Baby being picture of the year)

I have seen all of them. I have Maria Full of Grace on DVD. I had to find Hotel Rwanda, an indy flick. Aviator and Million Dollar Baby are excellent. I am a Johnny Depp fan, I think he is one of the few versatile actors out there, that is why I saw Finding Neverland. Ray I saw on DVD.

That reminds me, I have to find Maria full of Grace and watch it. I heard an entire story on mules on NPR, very interesting, and very sad. I want to see Hotel Rwanda, Million Dollar Baby, The Aviator, and Sideways. I better get busy.
