Okay, as most of you know, I LOVE my iTreads (some might even suggest that I am a tad bit addicted). Anyway, I just want to give some props to these workouts and encourage anyone who thinks they can't run or don't like to run that they should give them a try.
I have been running since high school (I'll be 37 in October, so quite a while!), but have never been concerned with speed as much as just getting out there and doing it. I have done three marathons and countless half-marathons and just wanted to finish. My marathon times are all about 4:15 and my half-marathon times are about 2:05. I feel that if I can keep up a 10 minute pace for 13 or 26 miles, I'm doing great.
Anyway...I have been doing the iTreads since July. At first, when I started, I was doing the joggers' speeds (Grace gives speeds for walkers, joggers, and runners). When she would say the runners' speeds I would laugh thinking I would NEVER be running at those speeds. As I continued doing the workouts, I noticed that I was easily running the runners' speeds and now I do .2-.5 higher than the runners' speeds! I never tried to get faster, I really believe it was these workouts (and I also incorporate HIIT) that pushed me to do more than I would have. When I think about all the miles I logged on the treadmill at a constant speed and no incline!!! Ugh!!!
My last long run (on Monday) was 9 miles in 75 minutes (and that was with walk breaks!). So, I just wanted to give props to iTread and maybe encourage other people to try them. They have really made a difference in my running and definitely made treadmill running way more enjoyable.
I have my first 5K race since I have been doing HIIT and iTread tomorrow. I am interested to see my time. I did it last year and will be interested in seeing if I have improved. I am battling a chest cold, but will hopefully feel much better tomorrow and ready to run a good race!
Okay, that's all! Sorry for the long post!
