My new problem food

Sweet potato fries:D:D:D These are about the best food ever. I have been on a kick with these things for well over a month. I have not found a way to make them from scratch that is quite as good as the commercial prep, and that is not for a lack of trying. DH is out working in the yard and I am cooking up myself a little snack of these:p:p

I adore sweet potato fries and I make my own! For me, the best way is to bake them with a little bit of sea salt and garlic! They are delicious, but I love garlic on just about everything!

This is how I make mine, too, with a light spray of EVOO. Garlic does make everything taste great, doesn't it?

I haven't made them for awhile, but now you guys have me craving them again. :) Guess I'll have to go buy some sweet potatoes...

I love these too and have tried making them many different ways. I've found that the best way to have them turn out (for me , anyway) is to cut them in rounds......you know ? Wash the potato and instead of cutting them into normal "fries", cut as uniformly as you can from end to end, so they are round disc shaped. If they are all the same thickness, they will all cook evenly.
I like them with some olive oil and then whatever seasonings you like. One of my favorites is cinnamon and sugar (or substitute) and then dip them in apple butter. SO GOOD !!!
But we also have tried sea salt and freshly ground pepper, and all kinds of other seasonings. Its just what YOU like.

HTH's :)

Cut them in rounds, brush lightly w/ olive oil, sea salt, pepper and rosemary, then grill over medium heat. Watch them closely, and flip often, or they'll burn, but yummers!!! You have to cut them a bit thicker so they still hold together when they cook, and I always lose 1 or 2 thru the grill grates.

Love sweet potatoes, in any way, shape, or form.

Another sweet potato fry fan here! I had a plate of 'em tonight for dinner! So easy to make & they taste so good you'd swear you were having a cheat meal!:D

Thanks for the ideas. I will get sweet potatoes at the store today and try cutting them into rounds. If this works I will probably be eating them every day for months :p:eek:

Oh man, I love sweet potato fries! I am going to try cutting them in rounds next time I make them, because I usually cut them in the traditional french fry shape, and they can be a bit soggy. Olive oil and salt is how I usually make them, served with ketchup. Yum! :D
