My legs are strong, why.....

do I have to lower the weight for Circuit Training?

I am using 60 lbs for PS Legs and 55 lbs for the Firm's Lower Body Split. If I use 40 lbs with the Power Circuit and the Body Max Circuit Section my knees start hurting, although my leg muscles could go a lot heavier. I have to go all the way down to 30 lbs to feel no stress on the knees. Why is there such a difference?

Maybe it is all the jumping around you are doing.Because you are doing aerobics + weight training and maybe your joints need to be given a little rest.Besides for that,ps is a muscle builing video while body max is an endurance video so I wouldn't think that you would need alot of weight anyway.I doubt that cathe uses that much during her endurance tapes.
Hopefully someone else may have other opinions,

Katerchen..
You are awesome!!! 60 lbs???!!! Jeez, I think you are doing great. Body Max is an endurance video with squats at a much faster pace than in the other vids. I did BM today and thought of you. I wouldn't at all expect to do the same amount of weight with BodyMax. Besides, I think you are doing great with 40!! I would say go all the way down to 30. There is alot of jumping, as Lori said, in BodyMax, very reminiscent to me of Interval Max. Your quads are getting a nice workout all through the stepping portion. Maybe this is your limiting factor?? If you push yourself hard on your strength days, I really do not see a reason to push so hard on endurance. You gotta have "light" days too!!

And by the way, your legs muscles CANNOT go alot heavier if your knees hurt, since your knees are a part of your legs!!! You are only as strong as your weakest part..remember that...Janice
