**MY HUMPS (my lovely CT lady lumps)**

Cathlete
Happy Wednesday girls,

KATIE! We're halfway there!!!

This morning Ryan and I swapped out MCC for Max Recovery. We were both really sore. I think I would have rather have done MCC b/c the push ups in MR are brutal.

Anyway, scale continues to go down. I think I've figured out the formula!

Nina, I don't know if you'll get this before you WO but insainty leg work I would say would be either of the "plyo" workouts. It's not as crazy speed but still pretty good on the legs. My hamstrings have pretty much been sore the entire two months. By the way, sounds like you and DH need a date night!!

Kate, you really got a good WO in yesterday. Your recipes always look so good!

Robin, hope you had a good nap!

Becky, cooking and yummy smells do make up for lousy weather! :)

Colleen, it's encouraging to know that your strength isn't totally depleted post-insanity. I know my chest and tricep muscles are stronger and definitely my shoulders from all the plank work. I think my biceps and back might need some attention.

OK, today we have the girls' gym and dance classes. So, they're home all day.

SHOUT OUT TO: Klaudia, Anne, Lisa, Wendy, Steph, Jennifer, ???

Have a happy Wednesday all!

Moroccan Chicken and Lentils

Ingredients:

8 C water
3 t sea salt
1 lb dried lentils

1 C plus 2 T olive oil
1/2 C red wine vinegar
3 T ground cumin
2 T plus 2 t chili powder
2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced

1 large onion, peeled and chopped
2 lbs skinless, boneless chicken breast
1/4 t ground cinnamon (could have done w/o this)
1 C chopped fresh parsley or cilantro

PREP

1. Combine water and 1 t salt in stock pot over high heat. Add lentils. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to medium. Simmer until lentils are soft, about 20 to 25 minutes. Drain well. Rinse under cold water and drain well. Place in a large bowl and set aside.

2. In a small bowl, mix 1 cup olive oil, vinegar, 2 T cumin, 2 T chili powder, garlic and 1 t of sea salt. Pour this dressing over lentils. Toss gently and let cool.

3. In large skillet heat 2 T olive oil. Add onion and saute until well cooked, about 5 minutes. Onion should appear dark brown and soft. Add chicken and saute 2 minutes more. Add 1 t sea salt, 1 T cumin, 2 t chili powder and cinnamon. Saute until poultry is cooked through.

4. Arrange lentils on a large serving platter. Place sliced chicken on top of lentils. Use remaining dressing and pour over chicken. Sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve at room temperature.

Hey all,

Pretty uneventful day here. Eats are squeaky clean though and I feel good!

I'm making chicken kabobs with peppers and onions and zuch for dinner. They might have to go in the oven b/c I'm guessing grilling won't be an option with the rain. Any advice on how to do these in the oven?

Robin, LOL on making it through all the STS workouts w/o fainting. That's hilarious. I'm sure you're stronger than you realize.

Kate, how do you make your meatballs and marinara? I'd like to try. Do you think I could do it with chicken? And I totally hear you on the diff kind of DOMS. It's something else, isn't it? Ryan and I are going to take a month off and then do another month of insanity right before the cruise. I wonder if I'll experience the same DOMS.

Nina, changes are tough to deal with. Don't you remember how long I was a downer after we moved? It's just part of the process. And I think my formula was fewer calories that were more filling. Seems to be doing the trick (plus no "cheats" like a bit of pbj, mac and cheese, those things add up).

Wendy, hooray for sleeping babies. It makes the world a brighter place, doesn't it? Your WO from y'day sounds great.

Becky, insanity is awesome and really it's nothing to be scared of b/c you can do it at your own level of intensity.

I'm glad you all enjoyed my thread title for the day. You're getting to see a new side of me this week!

Off to cut and marinade chicken. I'm a regular homemaker... :)

Hi Everyone!

This morning I did STS Disc 5 Back & Tri's and a 25 minute run. I am glad weight lifting is done for the week. My hands are sore from redeveloping my weight calluses and my muscles are sore. But it does feel good to lift again.

Wendy, wow 10 hours - that's amazing. Sounds like a great workout with your trainer.
Angie, my bi's were able to lift the same but I feel like I may have lost some muscle in my back. Maybe it was just the 3rd day of 3 weight workouts in a row.
Nina, I can't believe it will be 93 there today. Enjoy your walk today.
Kate, I was sleep deprived by the end of each week of insanity from the DOMs that would appear in the middle of the night. They are finally going away.
Robin, LOL on almost fainting during your core workout. How often are you going to work your core?
Becky, don't be scared of insanity. It a great sweatfest.

Off to more meetings and Sensitivity Training (there was a sexual harassment issue at my office and now we all have to be trained so it doesn't happen again).

YAY! I made up a yummy dinner - veggies (onions, zuch, peppers, potatoes) and chicken on top. Going to throw in oven now. It looks marvelous though.

HI Colleen! Bummer on the training... ugh.

JJ is really on a roll! 10 hours last night and then a 3 hour nap?!?!? and he's happy as a clam, doesnt seem to be getting sick with what dh and i had.

angie, dinner sounds great!

colleen, those trainings are a pain... as a former mgr, i totally understand WHY but in reality, mostly i think those who need it wont listen anyway and the rest already know and were just pulled away from the real work to be done, yknow?

today is my long yoga day, hopefully i can get through 45 mins of baptiste long and lean. i certainly feel yesterdays wo in my knees and wrists but not as bad as i was afraid of, i think yoga will be fine. nothings gonna keep me from great wo's this week after such a bum weekend!

b - cott cheese, peach, almonds, coffee
s - luna bar
l - salad with feta, stuffed grape leaves and jajek...mmmm

waiting for blue skies to get a nice long walk in.
