My good deed for the day

While walking my son and daughter to school today I found this tiny little hummingbird on the sidewalk, . . right in front of the school barely alive. I scooped him up and drove him to the animal hospital who does wild life rescue. I hope he makes it. I had to take a picture and share because I would never in all my life think I would be able to hold in my hand a live hummingbird. They are always so fast.

Aww.. so sweet. On the bright side, a lot of times when you find a hummingbird it is hypoglycemic and if it gets a little something to eat it will recover just fine. Thanks for giving him a ride to someone who could help!

They love to fly in our house, its so scary because they can only live a short while without food, I always have to chase them and catch them with a butterfly net. You can give them a little sugar water to revive them. They only want to fly upwards and don't know how to fly downwards so they just don't understand about how to fly out a door when they see the sky in a closed window.

I hope your bird lives.
