My dog gives me looks when I eat bad.

Do you feel bad when you are eating something you shouldn't and your animal is sitting there watching you? During TTOM I seem to not really care what I'm eating and last night I decided I wanted some of the Blue Bunny Banana Split Ice Cream that we had. Oh it is SOOOOO good with chunks of chocolate, pineapple, nuts, cherries, and banana. I was standing in the kitchen eating it out of the container and my dog (a sheltie) is laying at the kitchen door with a look that says "What are you doing? You know you don't need to be eating that. Put it away." I swear she's got this way of looking at me that helps me to stay on track. She is such a good dog. Anyway I had to share that.

Oh, I only ended up eating about 2 tbsps of the ice cream. Better than a whole bowl.

Kimbra,

That is cute. My kids look at me that way sometimes when I am eating something unhealthy. They know better than to say anything... :D

My dogs give me looks anytime I eat anything <G>. I think they think if they stare long or hard enough they can mentally transport the food from my plate to their mouth.

That is so funny! I can't eat anything, my dogs sit and stare at me too. It doesn't matter what it is, they can will sit and stare without blinking. :)

Or maybe she was saying "what are you doing? Give me some!" Nice work on showing your restraint on 2 tbsp. Sometimes that's all you need.

My dog and cat are on my "black list" today. The cat got up on the refrigerator yesterday and got the chicken breasts that I had thawing up there in a ziplock bag (I know...I should thaw in the refrigerator, but they're always still frozen if I leave them in there). So anyway, Purrple knocked 'em down, and she and Duke ate them. 2 boneless breasts. And of course...they didn't get sick. I think they even ate some of the ziplock bag.

The funny thing is, when I put the ice cream away she got up and left. I had a cat when I was little that loved to get up on the counter and lick the skillets after my mom had cooked spaghetti. My mom HATED that (I of course thought it was funny). My dog doesn't get stuff off the tables or counters. We can even drop a piece of food on the floor and she will wait until we say "Go ahead and eat it" . One Christmas I had some Hershey Kisses and one fell under the bed and she found it. I was sitting in the living room and here she comes over to me and drops it at my feet. I couldn't believe she didn't eat it. Of course I had to give her a doggie treat for being so good.

Colleen - I had actually come to that conclusion as well. But the cat never used to get up on the refrigerator before (she's 4). Must be because it's so cold out and she has to stay inside. So she and Duke are becoming quite the troublesome team!
